Gyms with hammer strength pullover

Looking for a gym with a hammer strength pullover in central Auckland. I know Unitec has one but their DB selection only goes up to 50kg. Had a look at Tony Martin's but they seemed to have every piece of hammer strength gear expect the pullover. I might be blind though.

Is this one piece of equipment the sole factor in you choosing a gym? (apart from heavy dumbells!). How good is this machine?

I also like Hammer Strength gear (and theres a good selection at Angels in Hastings) though it looks like I'll be joining the local gym across the road (Aspyre) that doesn't have it as the rest of the gym is better & the cost of membership they've offered me is significantly better. That said I'll be paying casual rates to use the HS gear on occassions.

I wish my current gym had one... they've got pretty much everything else.

HS pullover machines are really good because you can (practically) isolate the lats with them. You can't isolate the lats with any other back exercise (that I know of), they're all compound exercises.

With dumbbell pullovers tricep strength is the limiting factor. The triceps fail way before the lats... that doesn't happen on a HS pullover machine.

They aren't as good as the old school nautilus ones, the HS limits the range of motion when pulling your elbows behind your body IMO... nice in the stretch position but crap when you are trying to contract. Well for my structure anyway. Maybe for a taller guy it's perfect.

I haven't had the pleasure of using the Nautilus ones. I haven't seen a single gym with old school nautilus gear. The HS gear seems more common hence why I asked for is specifically.

I wouldn't join a gym that didn't have a Hammer Strength pullover machine.

There's this gym with 2 hammer strength pullovers & a nautilus pullover..... no squat racks though.... shall I send you the membership form Harry! :pfft:

Sounds like I need to try this machine out though.

Ha ha ha ha Nate I am being a bit of a smart ass... who cares if a gym has a pullover machine or not. If you have issues with tricep strength in db pullovers do straight arm pulldowns or get stronger triceps or heaven forbid use a weight you can actually feel working where you want it to rather than just using one you think looks good.
