Has anyone done Bodybuilding on Venison rather than Chicken?

Im entering my first Bodybuilding competition next year so am training hard at the moment, just wondered if anyone had ever used a different type of meat in their diet which wasn't chicken? I know its not that bigger deal at the moment seen as im off-season but was thinking more of using it for the lead up to the comp. Things are a bit tight moneywise and thought this could be a cheaper option seen as hubby is a keen hunter and all......your suggestions and comments are very welcome! Along with any other money saving Bodybuilding tips too! :D

yeah venison would be great coming into a comp because its very lean/high protein as is most wild game. i supplement my diet with a lot of meat i have shot or caught myself. deer, pigs, tahr, trout, salmon, sea fish, all sorts of stuff. hunting and fishing is my number 1 hobby. lifting heavy shit comes a close 2nd :grin:

I had venison alot on my diet for the worlds and it was delicious... nice lean meat and v. tasty! Makes a nice change from chicken. I usually try and keep the meats varied anyway during comp prep chicken/turkey/fish/venison/steak (as well as egg whites).
