HOW MUCH FAT!!??

Recommended Posts

Hey guys just about finished my bulk (i'm around 180 pounds, 178cm tall) Gonna begin cutting soon.

Anyway how many grams of fat do you guys have when cutting/bulking? I've been having about 90 grams a day on my bulk and was thinking of having about 80 on my cut

I know that fats could/should probably stay the same all year round (yes?) and that they should make up 20-30% of your diet or about .4-.5 of your bodyweight in pounds

Theres just so many different opinions on this matter!

Anyway how much fat would you guys recommend when im cutting, should I keep it pretty high for test levels?

Opinion please!!!!

Well you don't seem to be having much fats at the moment. All my fats at the moment are coming from my meats (unless I'm cheating). So I'm on shit all. Not sure of the exact amount, but I'd guess around 30-40g. I was originally having 90g of fats as well.

I don't seem to be having much fats? Around 25-30% of my diet are fats, not enough for my bodyweight?

How come you're having so little amount of fats?

Go 40/40/20 brah when cutting keep it too your lean meats/dairy almonds, and walnuts sweet in moderation say 10 almonds or other such nuts with your cottage cheese or creek yoghurt, shake at night.Cycle your proteins to include omega 3/6/9 naturally fish, egg whites the odd steak meal you could even stretch it to 50/30/20 when cutting if you have a hard time dropping, keep the mono's in there and only deviate on scheduled cheat days.Make sure its always lean quality meats your eating breast, sirloin, fillet etc,and say 1 yolk to every 3 whites brahh.

Sounds like a good plan, but I don't pay 'that' much attention to my omegas etc as you do. I eat pretty 'clean' but follow the IIFYM to an extent.

Do you think 20% fat is enough when on a cut? What about T levels?

Cheers for the info bro :D

Personally, I prefer manipulating carbs when trying to lose body fat. I'm not a fan of percentages either, even less so when dieting down. Fats are too important on a hormonal level to leave to a percentage of your caloric intake. What happens on a 40/40/20 split if you decide to drop your calories to 1800 or below? 40g of fats a day isn't much to get by on for someone your size. 80g sounds like a pretty good amount, wouldn't want to drop it any lower than 60g or so.

Everyone has their preferences when dieting. I'd say it's more important to be comfortable with what you're eating so you're more likely to actually stick with the diet. I prefer having more fats and proteins, others like to keep carbs higher. As long as you don't drop your fats ridiculously low and you can stick to your diet you should be fine.

I'll have a teaspoon of peanut butter every now and then or two pieces of toast with peanut butter which bumps up my fats and my cheats chuck up my fats another 30 or so grams. But I'm doing it because my body is reacting to it, not because that's what's everyone else would do.

Trial and error. If you aren't making mistakes, you aren't trying something new.
