Looking for a new gym....Maybe (Auckland)

Hi guys and girls, I'm currently taking a forced break from the gym for a couple of months and coincedently my membership has lapsed at Tony Martins this month. SO figured it would be a good time to explore my options. Doesn't seem like there are many options though round here so wondered if anyone had any recommendations / experiance of weight lifting gyms (as opposed to fitness gyms) in this area?

I've done a little research and so far it seems like the only options I have are possibly Onehunga YMCA or just heard about Miada in Otahuhu. i have concerns about both though. I may just stay at tony martins too if theres nother better, but if there is something then yay! Only thing wrong with my gym is the trend its currently displaying (result of the market I guess) towards cattering more and more for the fitness crowd. The power rack has gone, smiths machines going, more cardio machines arriving monthly. I got told off for dropping a db a while ago while other people are leaving shit all over the place all the time! Plus the fact that even though I only train during the day, I cant seem to escape the skinny weight swinging indians that wear wraps to do curls and a belt to do EVERYTHING! Not baggin on indians in general, just the weird ones in my gym.

And for god sake people, is it that hard to bring a fu*kin towel with you? Nothing pisses me off more than having to use my towel to wipe off other peoples sweat

anyway I digress! YMCA, I hope has enough equipment? But I'm sure a quick visit or a trail if they do them will over come my worries there? anyone been there?

Miada, I've heard has a few big fulla's (my best kiwi impression) so probably has the right equipment. But just a little worried if I went there I'd be like the tolken little white fella and always waiting for the big coconuts to get off machines as its not that big a place is it? Keen to hear anyones feedback on the place.

also are there any other gyms in the area I have missed? not including Jett please!

thanks for any help or feedback anyones got.

I train at miada in otahuhu, and Im a token white boy :pfft: Never had issues with equipment quite a lot jammed into a small place.

Has 2 sets of dbs up to 50kg, then a set up to 80kg, 3 benches, 2 racks, deadlift platform, lots of plates, wide range of machines. 24hrs and you get access to the avondale gym too.
