mass gainer shake

this recipe is nothing new, but thought I'd share it with anyone who's interested. I have 3 of these a day - 1 at breakfast, 1 mid afternoon, and 1 before bed. I've gone from 71kg to 77kg over the past 2 weeks just from this simple addition to my diet alone.

Not sure on the exact macros, but it's doing me well. If anyone has a guestimate of the cals/protein/carbs that would be great.

300mL milk (sometimes 150mL milk/ 150mL water)

2-3 weetbix

2 scoop oats

1.5-2 scoops protein powder

1 tablespoon olive oil / flaxseed oil

flaxseeds

1 tablespoon of peanut butter

couple scoops of ice cream

1 banana (for morning shake)

1 tablespoon cottage cheese (for evening shake)

and on occasion I'll add 1-2 eggs or a handful of nuts

i use the ON protein powder scooper for the oats and protein.

For the ice cream, its fairly rough and it changes day to day. But I guess enough to fill a regular mug (250mL) give or take a couple 'scoops'... :pfft:

You will get the same effect from Mcds to bro. You are just getting fat at that rate. Dont get caught up with scale numbers.

So much of that is gonna be fat! And it will be a bitch to loose it. A lot of people don't realise it takes time to build muscle, even for newbies.

Agreed ...got to be patient ...Read more on this forum...upgrade knowledge on nutrition, training techniques...I guess from my lil experience alot of magazines.. commercially sponsored websites can provide mis-leading :^o information and any1 with little knowledge can easily get carried away...

Rome was not built in a day...so is a body like a tank...look at this forum and you ll notice successful ones in this sport has be training for 5-10 yrs atleast...

thanks for the response guys. I know where your coming from... but I was/still am super skinny, so even going from 71 to 77... its not like im gaining flab or anything im just bringing myself up to speed. Of course if i was already a bit bigger i wouldnt down do many fats/carbs.

also while we're at it, whats a safe/recommended level of weight gain per week I should aim for?

In my opinion, if we give you numbers then you're gonna get caught up in those numbers and you're either going to try and gain that weight and if you overshoot it you'll probably cut back on your food and you'll probably up your food if you undershoot it. Just eat a reasonable amount of food and you'll gain weight however your body wants to gain it. Also other variables can come in e.g. gaining weight from water etc. so just eat and train bro and you'll gain weight. If you lose weight, don't beat yourself up about it, just train hard. Anything people want to add to that/correct me on?

^^^ i like that approach. Although you guys think Im measuring everything by numbers its actually quite the opposite... hence my rough estimates for my shake recipe. I dont keep track of any of my macros or how much 'grams of protein' i eat a day... I just eat. I only posted my weight because thats the only thing I go by to see if I'm gaining weight, apart from the mirror of course. im gaining weight, and i gained 6 kg in 2 weeks so thought i would let yall know .. i wasn't trying to impress anyone

besides, you cant win on this forum. if i had told you my previous diet, or said i was 71kg you wouldve told me to bulk up, and eat more calories lol. this thread wasnt about me gaining 6kg in 2 weeks, it was about my shake recipe... i should never have mentioned it in the first place

not really bro. its actually pretty easy to lose... esp if its just all water like you guys said it was. I was 78kg last year, went away on holiday for a week and lost 5kg in that 1 week - no cardio or nothing. That was just from me not eating regularly...

If its difficult for you to lose fat, then thats on you. My body's different so don't assume that what works for you works for everyone else.

sounds likes thats an unhealthy amount of weight to lose so quckly, and none of it will be muscle...I think they are just saying eat hard, but dont it to the point that your putting on 20kg per month...aim for 1kg per 2 weeks maybe, but you will have to eat a little healthier I suspect based on the above shake. Just eating to put on huge amounts of weight in short periods of time and vice versa in unhealthy for the body. Consistency in eating is key

Finally to complete our extensive and impressive product range, I present to you pre and post-workout variants. Marketing has been slow to conceive a name so any suggestions are welcome. Payment should not be expected.
