geramium is dmaa. its legal here and in many pre-workouts, but youre not allowed to purchase/import 'bulk powder'

Are you sure Geranamine is legal in NZ mate? Jacked has it and i know customs have been stopping that coming in

its definately legal, however it is a 'restricted substance'. im thinking jack3d must contain some other ingredient which is banned if they are stopping it.

pretty sure the preworkout 'the curse' (which contains DMAA) is made in the states because it is illegal for them to import the pure DMAA powder in the quantities they would need to make it here in nz.

it will probably be banned soon though...next time someone takes too many DMAA party pills and gets fucked up

The weird things is with pre-workout formulas like Jack3d is that the DMAA in it is a vaso-consrictor (sounds like a deadly snake)...so it sort of works against Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AAKG) which opens up your blood vessels - so why take one with both in it?

I think if you are into getting a good pump without worrying about getting wired like a teenager on party pills, then go for a pre-workout supp that has plenty of AAKG but not DMAA.

caffeine is also a vaso-constrictor yet it is capable of increasing performance for running. I dont even take PWO supps ever really, but had a couple of free samples of the curse and it definately enabled me to train for longer than normal. whether or not thats a good thing is another matter entirely. elevated cortisol levels etc

oh and with regard gto PWOs containing DMAA as well as AAKG ithink that would be becuase while the DMAA is a vaso-constrictors, that is not its primary purpose, which is to act as a stimulant.

This is purely speculation as i do not know the net effect of the two (vessels more open/closed than normal) but maybe the reason the AAKG is in the is to counter the vaso-constrictor properties of the DMAA, or maybe it still does cause a significant increase in the opening of the blood vessels?

Yes well just because it is a vaso-constrcitor doesn't mean it cant up your performance - as you are right in saying that coffee has many studies to back it up proving that.

As I say - I guess it depends what you are after. I got great pumps from SuperPump 250, which from memory doesnt have DMAA in it (somebody can correct me if I am wrong) and thats what I was after more than the "wired" feeling that DMAA gives you.

I should also add that I got "Super Dumps" from it too - at least until my body adjusted.

Agree 100% mate. They are two different products giving two different effects. If i want the "pump" in my workout i will probably take Superpump 250 but if i want to get wired and train like a possed maniac, i'll take ephedrine and black coffee. Although Geranamine is a different chemical structure to ephedrine, if you take enough of it you will experience similar effects
