Okay, so I have been offered a position of Backshift Site Manager 10pm - 6am.(Have not accepted yet)

Has anyone worked hours like these before and somehow worked out a manageble diet combined with gym training?

I figured I would train straight after I finished work then off to bed, and hit the gym the odd times before I started work, depending on weather I am bulking/cutting etc etc? What gets me is do I just eat the same eg 5-6 meals during the course of the night as I would during the day?..Kinda at a loss?

I think your sleeping patterns are going to be more of an issue than your diet. If this is a permanent shift, then you'll adjust - more or less. But if it's a rotating shift, or you try to go back to normal hours at the weekend, that's where things get messy.

That was my experience anyway. Perhaps some of our other shift workers can chime in.

Thanks :D I guess in terms Im trying to compare daylight with the vamp shift in what changes would I expect beside sleep paterns and how this can affect the body nutrition wise..say burning less bodyfat during night hours compared to daylight hours etc etc

It is a permanent shift. Only thing that puts me off about it is that it is the graveyard shift..but for 85k plus bonuses...tough choice...

agree. if its permanent you should adjust to the new sleep times within a couple of weeks.

however those are shitty hours. chances are if its a warm sunny day you wont be able to sleep as long long (not as much of an issue in winter really, but in summer it is) and you will end up getting like 5 hours sleep/day. Because of this you will always be tired but wont be able to sleep at night in the weekends (if you have them off) because your sleep pattern will have adjusted. This could potentially f*ck up your recovery times and training

I used to work 12 hous on/6 off, which was actually not too bad as I was always sleeping at different times, and was always tired enough to sleep regardless of what time it was.

if it was me I wouldnt do the hours you were offered, unless of course the money was significantly better than what you are already getting
