Wrapping the knees

When do you jokers begin to wrap the knees during squats?

Say do you work up to your 10 rep max without then wrap for the heavys?

Does wrapping take natural strength away ? Have never used them before but dont wanna blow my knees apart being a hero. Also whats a good brand?

I don't know about the other guys but I will usually put wraps on loose once I get to 5 pps if I decide to go that heavy. I prefer to not use them just so that all my connective tissue strengthens but have a knee injury so I wrap to make sure it tracks properly. It won't weaken your quads unless you get lazy and wind up squatting what you did before you used them. I see that often enough. Guys who squat 3pps for 6 and wrap up to do 8 reps with the same weight... Pointless.

i usually wrap once i start squating 2x my bodyweight which i can get about 8 to 10 reps on a good day and to be honest it probably does more to put my head at ease then actually protect my knees if i go for a max single which i have not in a while then i will always wrap
