sore lower back after walking/running

Hey wondering if anyone can give me some advice on this, I will be going to the physio if it is still an issue in a few days.

Basically for the last few weeks or so, when I walk or run on trademill, a few hours later and for the rest of the day I have a dull ache in my lower back, and also a little in my glutes and hamstrings, on both sides, but one side more than the other. When bending down eg straight leg dead lift sorta motion it gets quite bad. This goes away completely by the next day but next time I walk/run it comes back, but it seems to be only when I go for big distances (3km + which is quite alot for me)

If it is just a matter of stretching more and adjusting my posture while walking that would be awesome, if anyone has any tips before I see the physio that would be much appreciated.

also should add it doesnt hurt immediately after, but a couple hours later.

Go see a physio or a sports massage

Sounds like trigger points in your Glute med/min.

sweet yeah i will do, do they sorta give you a permanent fix or do you just go every once in a while? never had to go to a physio haha

I have had, and still have to a lesser-extent, a similar sort of thing where the lower back gets fatigued quite easily (moreso on one side). Have found that (in my case anyway) it was due to a combination of hip imbalance, and anterior pelvic tilt - with all of the weak muscular goodness that comes from it.

Been a slow road getting it all right, but hams and glutes are a lot more active for me now, as well as the hip imbalance slowly coming right.

I'd go with Krabs suggestion and go and see a Physio - and if that fails, possibly a chiro?

I currently do two sessions a week with my Doc, mainly to sort out the hip alignment, but also other small niggles. You can probably claim ACC for it. I also do a lot of Agile 8 flex/mobility work before each weights session to loosen up the hips and glutes.

firstly for acc and excuses... if you say its an injury caused by running overtime then you wont get cover, if you say you injured yourself while running you will get cover. so say that.

secondly, if you on steroids of a dose which is considered not a low amount lower back pump while running is very common when first beginning. tight calves, hamstrings can also give a tight sore lower back so do your stretches. and build your running up gradually in distance and speed to avoid these kinds of niggles stopping you along the way.
