Hey guys,

I've got back surgery coming up on friday and I'm not gonna be able to hit the gym for 6 weeks. I'm expecting that I'll be dropping weight and have come to accept the fact, however I'm hoping that I can do something to use the time the best I can.

What I was hoping was that I might be able to do some sort of fat loss mission but avoid loosing muscle as best as I can.

Has anyone here done something like this before? Would any of those who are more knowledgeable on nutrition care to suggest any recommendations?

clean food bro, high protein. back off the carbs abit as you not really needing those extra carbs for training and muscle repair from the weights to avoid unwanted fat gain. however i dont know your body so you may not gain any fat by eating the same amount of food as you are and not exercising.

or just have a proper break will do you good mentally in the long run and come back with a fit and fresh body and mind in 6 weeks.

this!

:ditto:

chances are a break will make you even more keen to get back into it (provided you don't get too used to having a break  )

One thing i noted when i took time off is that i always grew... I knew this because after i hadnt trained for a week or two my stretch marks on my arms and chest particulary would get more vivid.

Take a break.. youll be suprised
