Hey guys

I have just been starting a clean bulk im a student and I work part time so its safe to say I dont have alot of money to spend on supplements

Im eating a good balanced diet lots of protein bit of carbs, fats and greens etc and currently taking protein powder and creatine

do you guys think I need to be taking anything else as well?

or is protein and creatine all you need?

have heard good/mixed reviews of BCAAs. Thoughts?

Thanks for the fast replys

I take Nutratech protein and creatine or whatever else is on special

That's probably your best bet for quality supplements at a decent price, I wouldn't worry about anything else. Just eat well, train hard and get enough rest. If you're not progressing, supplements should be the last thing to address. Get your diet, training, and rest sorted and you'll make progress, no need to buy supplements you can't really afford.

you could possibly look at using a bit of glutamine if you have the spare $$. i think nutratech sell it for $40?? should last you a while. helps you to recover and also helps hold on to the muscle that you already have, to stop you moving backward

IMO, that money would be better spent on steak. I'd place BCAAs over glutamine, and neither are really worth spending money on as a student who's bulking.

-Protein powder

- Multi-vitamin

- Fish oil

I dont bother with BCAA's you get enough through your diet and protein powders etc, and if you are bulking you shouldent need to supplement with any extra espically if protein is high (which it should be) too much people get a boner over BCAA supplementation.

Use it if your cutting and at a great calorie deficit, other wise its not really necessary.

creatine, glutamine, bcaas, pre workouts their all good stuff it just comes down to what you can afford. if money is tight their is nothing wrong with continuing what you are doing with good food and protein/creatine.

Glutamine supplementation is a complete waste of money.

Creatine, Bcaas/whey, fish oil and vits :D

Recovery sups > stims and preworkouts

I get a bit tired of The ever regurgitated 'don't waste your money on supplements spend it on food' bullshit it's right up there with train to your natural potential before using AAS.

Supplements if used correctly are fantastic in helping anyone gain quality mass. As someone that started off at 60kg and not being able to bench my bodyweight, supplements helped me too no end and every dollar was well spent.

If the old me posted saying the same thing all the parrots would say dont waste your money blah blah blah, I used them in conjunction with the right diet and got awesome results... Yes there are some noobs that don't realize supplements on there own won't build muscle, but there are also alot who know how to eat and use supplements as just that....SUPPLEMENTS.

If you have the money you cannot go wrong with whey casien ect bcaa, creatine, glutamine, caffiene and the odd preworkout.

Two points to this:

If you have the money is key here. Most of us who bullshit supplements do so because supps pale in comparison to good food for the same cash. If you've only got x to spend then IMO it's food first and supps a distant second. Sure, if you've got the money then why the f*ck not.

Second bro, the main reason I hate supps is because of the bullshit behind their marketing and hype. How do pharmafreak get away with selling hyped up tribulus at $120 a bottle with a vial of gear (that actually works) selling for only a little more? I just think if you are the kind of person with extra cash who wants to run this that and everything else to boost your performance, then spend it on things with science and results behind them. Creatine, Protein and AAS. The rest is bullshit.

With supps, there's is defiantly a time and a place to use them, and this as Massive said can be dictated by disposable income.

I find supps awesome when trying to lean out and I dont get the micros I need from an abundance of food from bulking. Oh shit wait cals are cals ay...My bhagdad..... :C

MPI, Xtend, creatine, L-carn, vits, ZMA. Can all be handy if you dont get it from your diet.

Even pre workouts as TWL said can be great as a toy!
