130Kg and want to lose weight

Zumba is stupid. It's fun... to watch and laugh at.

A run isn't too bad, they do it on the biggest loser. It could be a good measure, run at the start to see how far you can run. Then probably drop the running and do other exercises and fat loss stuff (one of the people who actually knows how to do it will tell you how; BigJohn?).

Then go for a run once you've lost a lot of weight and see how much you've improved.

Have you got a diet sorted?

At 130kgs I wouldnt bother running at all, having done little exercise in a while your joints will just take a hammering and you will risk injury. Start off with a brisk walk and just slowly increase it over time along with adding in some other basic exercises.

What sort of physical activity have you been doing recently? and how often? I'd agree that running probably isn't the best idea to start off with. The most important thing for you at the moment would be getting into the habit of exercising regulary, regardless of the mode used. Walking 5-6 times a week and making a habit out of it is going to be much better for you than going for a run and spending the next few days doing nothing waiting for your joints to recover.

To your original question though zumba would be fine, anything that's going to get you moving more will be good for you. If you enjoy it and can stick to doing it regularly then go for it.
