getting started in a trade

Wondering if any tradesmen (sparky pref) that can point me in the right direction to get an apprenticeship, and what sorta pay i can expect qualified?

Am i better to do a course first, or just apply to electrical companies for an apprenticeship?

Am not dead set on sparky, just like the fact that its relatively clean work and decent pay.

depends what city your in.

no need to do a pre trade unless you wanna waste a year of your life.

but then if your not sure what you wanna do then better to waster a year or less than a few years in a trade before quitting it.

sure its not as dirty as a plumber but its till dirty work mate, its a trade not an office job.

search etito and give one of the coordinators a call he will point you in the right direction

Yeah stuff pre trade bro. Plumbings all good apart from blocked drains :madman: The pay rates definately vary from place to place but as a general rule by the time you are qualified you should be minimum 25 dollar in a city. Gasfittings where the coin is.

Attitude like that would hate to have you as my apprentice!

If its money you are after don't get a trade!

You can earn a good living but never going to be rich.

Positive side if you are good (and willing to get your hands dirty) you can generally find work any where.

You need to be good at Maths and science subjects to pass exams .well used to be the case when they had trade cert now its all book work and assignments so not so sure on that side.

Follow what Luigi said above.

Try and get into commercial & industrial work its more interesting than crawling thru ceilings and under houses.

Ring up electrician/companies to do a information interview. You need to take classes too for the theory and a good company that will train you.

Sparkies is an interesting job but they want at least good grades in math/physics so you can pass the theory exam.

2 sites you need to know

ETCO

ETITO
