Hi Jo.

Nice to have you here. I'm new to the body building scene and hoping to do my first comp this year. I posted my diet and training up yesterday for advice because im not losing any body fat. I recieved some really good feed back (knowledgable people this lot). I made some changes to my diet and posted that version up aswell. Was wondering if you would mind having a look at it for me and letting me know what you think. I know youve been involved with this industry for a long time now and with experience comes knowledge. Would be much appreciated

If you have trouble finding them i can post them to you.

Hi Carma, the boys are right. You needed more carbs. And for breakfast, not anought protein but you have the sussed now.

You know we girls turn into pretty much cardio addicts in the quest to hve the perfect body. I am experimenting for the first time in my competition career with my cardio. I have always ran. For 30 years now I have ran almost daily. Leading up to a contest I run 2 x 30 mins sessions per day. I have been running 1 x daily since my last event in Ocotober but on Monday I planned out my contest training for the next 6 weeks and I have scraped running. Didnt think I would ever do that. I got up and walked this morning. Shit it was hard not picking up my feet and running the steep hills that I love, but anyway I did it. And I shall continue to do that for the next 6 weeks. I shall see how much muscle I put on. I shall really miss it. But hey, I suppose I have to try it, if I want to make some vast improvement this year. And I learnt, the same as you that you have to eat. You are now doing it sensibily so keep reporting to the forum and you'll get heaps of help. WEll see you on stage soon.

Yes, I am competing in Spain for New Zealand in the Woman's Worlds. Placed 7th in a class of 16 last year so hoping to do better this year. It is all very exciting. I have never trained so hard in my life - its about time though. I have really just cruised up until now.

got a few guest poses with my dance group as well through out the year so looking forward to that. We doing something different for entertainment. should be good

Let me know what competition you are doing.

Train hard, eat well to recover from the workout you did today, and to prepare yourself for the workout tomorrow.

By the way, as a protein guide I am currently 63kgs

I have

Breakfast 25gms protein

morning tea 20-25 grms protein

lunch 30-40 grms protein

afternoon tea 20-25 gms protein

dinner 30+ grms protein

supper 20-25grms protein.

never less, but sometimes more.

I have carbs, for my breakie, lunch, and early dinner. thats all, and usually 1/3rd cup oats, lunch, 200gm kumara, dinner, kumara again but not every night.

and fats come from my flaxseed or hemp seed oil x 3 per day

Luf & muscles, Jo.

Hey Jo

Good luck for your comp in spain. It must feel awsome to have achieved as much as you have in the body building world!

What do you think about artificial sweetners. I use them in my oats and coffee(only one per day at the mo) and i think i'm addicted to sugar free gum. I'm wondering whether i should try and cut them down a bit?

I've read that they can raises blood sugar levels? Any thoughts?
