Going to be quite a day

Here is some helpful info on the rules and for you on the day.

Weigh in - you will be weighed to determine your weight class and your weight goes towards your Wilks Score.

Weigh in will be at 0900 - Time may change to 0800 if there is a large lifter attendence. Notice of any changes will be given by txt message to the phone number you give on your entry and also placed here in this thread a few days prior to the event.

You will be weighed in shorts.

Girls will have a female Referee weigh them.

You can weigh more than once if you needed to drop a few grams off but only if time allows.

Attire - You may lift in shorts (above knee length) and T Shirt (round collar only)

Normal brief underpants to worn. No Boxers or boxer type shorts.

No Sparkley Thongs :pfft:

Normal sports labels will be accepted as will gym, club, product, logos.

Normal sports trainers or "Chuck Taylors" type footware to be worn. Firm rubber or compressed rubber soles would be better than air or gel filled soles. Recognised squatting shoes and weightlifting shoes will be accepted.

Long socks (knee length) will be required for the Deadlift.

Single Ply Squat, Bench and Deadlift Suits will be accepted providing they have not been tampered with or altered outside the IPF rules. Soft Suits are not required but you are welcome to wear if this suits you.

It is anticapted that most lifters will compete RAW but you are more than welcome to lift with suits.

Belts - non padded Powerlifting belts will accepted.

Padded belts will not be accepted.

Wraps - recognised powerlifting knee wraps of 2m or less in length and recognised powerlifting wrist wraps of 1m or less in length are allowed. Wraps shall not be used eleswhere on the body.

Neoprene knee sleeves are allowed.

Neoprene elbow sleeve are not permitted.

Medical crepe bandage is allowed.

Gear will checked at weigh in as will lifting attire.

The events progress in the following order:

Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift

Rules and reasons for disqualification can be found here

http://www.powerlifting-ipf.com/fileadmin/data/Technical_Rules/IPF_rulebook_05_2011.pdf

Please make yourself aware of the rules. There will be a comprehensive briefing prior to each lift where any questions will be answered also.

Doc has a great article about preparing for your first comp here:

http://biggerstrongersmarter.wordpress.com/2011/04/17/competition-day/

Keep in mind this event is all about having fun and giving it a go. The refereeing will be firm but fair keeping in mind this sport is for the lifters not the referee. If you have any questions or would like to enter, contribute or sponsor a few prizes then please dont hesitate to send us a PM :D

what issues would these be :? if your talking about how the rack rocks a little when you crash the bar home then....youre going to need a bigger squat for it to be a concern for you

Just a thought how about the mighty Drizzt vs VP / Raw = belt and knee wraps?

Total vs Total

Keen as bro, wouldn't be able to confirm for the CBC comp but maybe BBro (edit - you'll be geared at BBro though aye?)

You'll whoop me on Bench, and probably smoke me in squats too after your Smolov cycle :pfft: But I'm hoping I'll throw a big dead number out to make things a little bit closer :D
