1 serving

1 cup skim milk powder

3 - 4 raw eggs

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

vanilla essence

whole milk

pretty sure i deleted this thread.... anyway...

how much milk (how much carbs) ? and whats the point of putting skim milk powder in as well as whole milk ?

i prefer to not use milk in mass gainers as it leaves me feeling bloated for a good amount of time and cant stoumach food or train - just preference though.

skim milk powder is just carbs and protein. dont think it would really matter what sort of liquid milk you used at all, but you wouldnt want to use 1 cup of whole milk powder unless you were trying to get fat

Why are you afraid of the whole milk? Because it has some calories from fat in it as well? I'd be more worried about the raw eggs, just a waste really. May as well cook them to get the full benefits and absorption.

What I posted is just an example.

You could drop the raw eggs & whole milk, add water &/or oats or liquid honey.

One of the best mass gaining drinks I used to make to drink during the day contained,

3 cups of skimmed milk powder

1 desertspoon coffee

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

pineapple juice

cream

The whole idea in my opinion is to get the basic macros from good sources. The "tweaking" like training is up to the individual. Through experience you become your own best trainer & nutritionist.

Couldn't agree more with you there mate

Not meant as a mass gaining shake per sey as I've been having it for breakfast lately but I've grown quite fond of;

2 scoops whey powder

2 bananas

1 apple

half a cup of oats

1 teaspoon honey

dollop of olive oil (2-3tablespoons at a guess, I just eyeball it)

Whole milk to reach the consistency and volume you like. I use roughly 400-500ml and it gives me 1ltr of shake.

Add coffee if it's one of those mornings...

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Your recipe's looking good too.

The pineapple juice is for the digestive enzymes to increase protein absorption. I have also used coconut cream as well. You will not gain bodyfat from cream or coconut cream as the triglyicerides are not long chain fatty acids, instead your body will use the fat for energy. Add butter to that list as well, although I wouldn't go putting it into a drink.

so you would quite happily knock back 1 cup of full fat milk powder like twice a day?

If the goal was to gain mass then yeah. Admittedly I don't know how many grams of each macro would be in a cup worth, but my point was that fat is not the enemy. Keep the overall calories in line to provide growth without gaining excessive fat and why not use whole milk powder? A mass shake is obviously being used to help the consumer get in more calories, skim just seems counter productive in that sense.
