NZ has inspired me

Ok, gunna go off a rant somewhat and a personal reflection, so beware!!

I've been in NZ for nearly 5 years. In that time, I've had my first child who will be 3 next month, joined a gym and made my self bigger and stronger, (mentally as well) started boxing and had a few fights and learned alot of personal shit on the way, met really nice people, my sons mother has changed my outlook on life somewhat from her kindness and patience.

Because of all this, and Nz's easier way of life, I'm not such a stress head or angry young man anymore lol. When I came over from the UK in 2006 I was pissed off, and hated my life. It took a while for my sons mother to get used to my whingy, moody pommy attitude but she soon molded me into a more user friendly kinda guy. \:D/

I'm saying all this as I'm going back to UK in 2 weeks time with a different head on my shoulders. I'm on a new level, of confidence, and pooooower!!! (Pantera lyics.) I dont really miss the UK in terms of its culture or landscape, its more that I have more chance of succeeding in my film making and music over there, and everyone I know is there . (Mates, enemies, relative etc.) So altho Its a nice relaxing life here, I feel not much 'moves' in NZ. (Just realized what I said there, oops. )

I admit I still despise the UK, and the total shit hole that its become, but I feel like I need to go back there and give it a go with the film making and music. I'll have to put up with the usual bollocks, like chavs-groups of little teenage pricks walking around in groups being cocks, the shit weather, the bland dress code of the public, shitty attitudes, immigrants who think UK owes them a living, pikeys, constant over cast where looking up at the sky results in your eyesight being temporarily munted from the glaring reflection off the clouds, etc etc.

I hate the football culture in my country as well. Fucking football this football that. Go and buy SUn or The Mirror and you will see the same celebrities in there day in day out.

LOndon riots, recession..........But hey, I gotta give the place another shot.

There are some lovely places in UK it has to be said, but i would have to drive miles to get there and wudnt be able to afford to live there because its either in the country where no work is etc.

Devon, Cornwall etc, nice places to live if you can afford it.

But thats what NZ's taught me, is to just relax a bit. Don't fall into the bullshit mindset of the clones over there.

Can't say I'd be there for long, prob wont be able to take it for long, as my son will be her in NZ with his mum, and ive got accustomed to the easy life here, just got bored.

Its funny. Most mates i know are still living in the same inbred shitty village or town, going to the same pubs every weekend, never doing anything with their lives and bitching about how life sucks. I lived my my CAR before i came to NZ. I got sick of dodgy landlords and lived in my car and saved my cash and came to NZ. It can be done if you really want it to.

There are some salt of the earth people in the UK but sadly are suffocated by the growing number of dickheads there who give everyone and everything a bad name. I guess its whats Labour has done to the country i n the last 14-15 years and we were dumb enough to vote them back in.

I do hear about alot of people I dont know upping and leaving UK for greener pastures in Australia and NZ etc as they're just sick of the nanny state that is the UK. Crime is through the roof which is why UK is king of public CCTV cameras.

Lots of fellow Brits say be proud to be British mate blah blah but I dont feel shit. The last 10 years have been a joke there. We have an abortion of a justice system, the PC brigade, and elf n safety wankers ruining everything. If you try and be patriotic in UK you are branded as a racist. You cant stick up for what you beleive in. No wonder so many people think well f*ck this I'm leaving.

Im sure there are some fellow poms on here that might not agree with me, but its just my personal opinion from what I've seen with my own eyes and experiences.

MY immediate family live in New Zealand, so i can come back here anytime now what with my son being here as well. NZ actually feels more home to me now. I have nothing but shit memories from England. But like i said im going back with a different mind set. Still, im staying the f*ck away from Cambridge when i get back i hate the place. Too many mongs there.
