necessary to have if you wanna work in a big gym.

it is a massive money making scheme but if you want access to the income that a bigger franchise gym may provide then your gonna want to get it.

Then theres the 15 credit a year stuff

Sucks...

Not just the big gyms but independent onces as well now. Yes i agree its a money making scheme in a way but i'm almost pretty certain that you would not be able to train/pt anyone in a gym without a pt qualification of some sort now a days.

I guess if you have a mate or two who owns their own gyms and are willing to let you do pt without a qualification then its on them. So i have been told. I aslo believe that its a must to have a first aid cert as well. I'm currently doing my level 4 in both coaching and PT certs and all of these issues has been addressed to us. anyway just my 2c.

Yeah too true mate, cant really avoid it. Need comprehensive first aid for your reps anyway. But an advantage of reps is that you can get public liability insurance through them. Not sure if that is on top of the registration costs.

I dont think Les Mills are reps registered?

Umm unless you need to be reps registered I wouldnt bother. All the staff at our gym have to be but our gym chain ( a big company ) was very close to ditching reps as the customer service and communication is shocking.

Not too mention I have one PT who has a MAsters degree from Czech and and another who has a physiology degree from Otago but because they arnt recognised by reps they cant get fully registered. Not ot mention Max college of fitness gets full reps registration.

I agree we need some sort of quality control in the industry but Reps is an EPIC FAIL in that department. I can get a staff memeber two fill out 3 correspondence books and they can be a fully registered PT.

So if one was to do a quick PT course they should make sure its REPS certified? Im about to graduate from my degree in physiology and pharmacology and was contemplating doing a quick PT course and work for a year or so before I start my postgraduate study. Can anyone suggest a pain free way to do it? It seems pretty stupid to me considering some of the PTs at my gym ask me for advice to give to their clients
