What is your IQ?

I thought this test was timed initially - it took me approx 5mins to finish. Was given an IQ of 131.

Interested to see what others get. An official test would be timed so try to finish in under 10mins. (Don't use a search engine!!)

I got 143 - think I could have done better if I had more practice but making no excuses. If someone comes along who has never done these tests and beats me on their first go I won't be a sore loser. If you photoshop I won't know but you will :wink:

Possibly a random number generator for all these sites. I think the only way you can really claim you have an IQ of x is to go to a Mensa centre and sit a proper test under set conditions. The online ones really are bullshit.

I went through and plugged in (a) for every question and it gave me an IQ of 101. If you answer nothing you get an IQ of 85.

It seems pretty clear from all the astronomical scores people are getting, it is a load of horseshit. The only way to claim a certain IQ is to pay and do it irl.

I think the classic definition of being intelligent and having a gifted mind are two different things. What you achieve in life ultimately defines how functional your brain is. Columnists and bouncers claiming to have record breaking IQs clearly have flawed minds if the sum of their achievements is solving a few complex puzzles.

Darwin was said to have a relatively low IQ but what he achieved in his lifetime was hugely significant.

I would even look at some of the Mr Olympias and consider their brains superior to mine. They had incredible determination and drive to reach a goal that meant something.

I have a better ability to understand material than a lot of people who get in to medicine but my work ethic is abysmal. As a result I would never claim to be "smarter" than them because they use everything they possess to get somewhere. Drive, ambition, work ethic, common sense are all things you are born with which imo are the biggest factors when it somes to being successful and hence, imo the biggest "gifts" you can recieve.

Donald Trump may have been mediocre at school but he wanted to get somewhere, capitalized on opportunities presented to him and now he is a very rich man. A fuckload more people know who he is than the person with the highest ever recorded IQ.

There are other factors that contribute to people's success obviously but I still think what I am saying in essence is true.

There is a strong correlation between IQ and the most influential scientists of all time but a high IQ does not mean you have a gifted mind and vice-versa.
