Squats and Squats - what's the difference

Recommended Posts

Hey just wondering if someone can elaborate on the difference between front squats and a squat with the bar across your shoulders?

My shoulder is a bit fucked at the moment and I've been advised to move to front squats but just wondering if that is more quad dominated - which would suck for me, because my squat is already pretty quad dominated.

advices anyone?

Yes, front squats are more quad dominant.

Are you leaning forward when squatting? If so Front squats will def help. A great lower Ab workout too.

front squats hit mostly the quads and take your glutes out off the exercise so you can never lift as much weight but they do isolate the quads better then standard squats and are a very good exercise i like doing front squats with a couple off 5 kg plates under my heals and i feel it all in my quads
