All Bran or Eggs for breakfast

its high in fat, fat is more calorie dense than carbs, but they are good fats...maybe an egg and wholemeal bread would be better than all bran for you!! depends on what your goals are and your other meals throughout the day hazel!!

a small amount of both would be more beneficial (of course depending on what u doing before and after breakfast) than one of the other generally speaking. whole eggs are protein and fats, all bran is carbohydrates

Yeah, both. I have egg white powder for breakfast - there's no fat in it and it's so much easier than cracking, taking the yolks out, and cooking eggs all the time!

will depend on ur overall macro's and whether ur going low carb etc

id switch out the all bran and use plain on oats instead

for example... special K cereal now has twice as much added sugar as it used to

weetbix, nutrigrain etc can also be high is salt, sugar too

worth checking out

but isnt the reason why so many BBers love eggs is because of the fat?? as you can get protein from lots of other sources...

Yeah ditch the cereals and stick to oats. If you want to sweeten it up add a scoop of protein powder. If you're doing low carb have an omlette with a whole egg and several egg whites to mix. Every now and then I'll add half a scoop of protein powder for a sweeter taste.

All bran is better for you than oats. Had a look at the nutritional info the other day, more fiber and less carbs, more beneficial vitamins etc, but if you're strapped for cash oats are ok. Try a low carb protien shake with 1/4 cup of oats or all bran but drink it quick cause the all bran goes soggy after a while and it loses it's "crunch factor" haha

oh you looked at the nutritional information of all bran the other day did you... you must have missed the sugar content then.

oats are better for you actually, they contain next to no sugars and are more of a natural food with nothing added to them. all bran contaisn sugar and lots of processed stuff.

all bran is still healthy in comparasion to alot of cereals but to say its better for you than oats is incorrect.
