muscle Recovery length?

Just wanting to know how long you need for a muscle group to fully recover before training it again?

For example, its been four days since my chest day, but im really wanting to hit it hard again tonight! is that long enough or is it going to set back my progress only resting 4 days ?

48-72hrs

bigger muscle groups take 72hrs

id be tempted to leave chest as once a week.

at the mo i do forearms twice a week and calfs twice a week. everything else has a week until i train it again

I pound chest, mon and thursday.

and as mike said its up to the person, if your body tells you its fine, then go.

But supps/eating also aid in recovery

I think it varies from person to person. It comes down to a lot of factors such as Genetics but mostly not eating enough food and getting enough sleep. Also remember your muscles are made up of a lot of water so drink plenty of the good stuff.
