Man that traffic going northbound on auckland motorway.. :shock: had to get from Manukau to New market... took two hours! and this is at 11:30.. good thing I get paid hourly :grin:

It was like a freakin ghost town in most side-streets, traffic lights were un-attended at so many intersections..

its so stupid how drivers carry on like normal, thinking everyone is gonna stop or see them coming around buildings..i was driving a huge old ford transit filled with coffee, nescafe promo-van..

its funny, i only remember seeing 1 cop car on my trip..wonder where they all were..

I had the day off anyway, cause I had to take my brother in to Auckland hospital for an op.

We crawled along the northbound motorway, when we got to the Newmarket viaduct we heard on the car radio that surgeries were being cancelled.

Doh!!!

Rang the hospital from the car and sure enough, the op was off.

Then had to get off at Kyber Pass and back on the motorway to go home again.

Waste of a friggin' day for me!

A rusty shackle/bolt broke at the Otahuhu substation and left at least 70% of Auckland without power for half a day.

Hey Tallulahangie! Long time no see - how's things across the ditch?

Things are going well here over the ditch. The weather is great here & I enjoy getting out during my lunchbreaks & walking in the sun. I've got a well paid job & a very nice place to live. The cost of living is a lot cheaper here in Brisbane.

I miss the conveniences of home though. I miss my gym, my supplement store (the supps over here are very expensive & not as good as the ones I can get in Auckland - i have yet to find Dr Carbrite bars), the 24 hour supermarket etc.

I haven't been to a gym in 2 weeks because I was sick & because I can't be bothered. Everything is so spread out over here that the travel puts me off. However I have been walking a lot more (goddamn cars are SO expensive to purchase over here & I haven't been able to find the right one in the 5 months that I have been here).

Hopefully I will be home later on in the year (aiming to get back for that comp that Moe is putting on in November - should be very good indeed!)

You really can't appreciate what you had until it is gone! But at least we don't have black outs in Brisbane...
