Hi Everyone

Just thought I would introduce myself as I have just joined up.

I'm not looking to be a body builder or anything but have joined for the information and motivation.

So i'm a 26 yr old Female about to turn 27 and for the last 5 or so years I have been fat (105kgs at heaviest). I am a dance teacher who got caught up in the day to day running of my business and ended up in quite a bad space (emotionally, mentally).

In the last year I have manage to loose 20 kgs (yay for me) but now I'd like to loose another 10 and see what I look like.

My downfall is food. I am the worst eater and dont like most food thats good for me. I take picky to a whole nother level.

Anyone had any experience with hypnotists? I'd love it if someone could hypnotise me to like all the good food.

Anyway thats me. I belong to Anytime Fitness in Greenlane so if anyone goes there please introduce yourself.

I'll dig out some before and after photos of me so far :)

great effort so far!

keep at it!

no easy fix with the food, lean protein, complex carbs, healthy good quality fats.

I wouldnt waste ur $$ with a hypnotist. just try to eat healthy and think of it as a lifestyle change and not a '4 week diet'

once you stick with healthy food choices daily with exercise you will continue to get the results you are seeking.

It wont be easy, but the hard work pays off

:ditto: - well done on your hard work so far !

No experience with hypnosis, but mental approach is key, and you've already proven you've got that.

There are many great women on here, have a look at some of the journals, and the links up the top :)

Hey NM

Welcome to the boards!

My sister tried hypnosis and it certainly didn't work on her. Two years later she made the decision (on her own) to join weight watchers and is doing very well.

At the end of the day, if you really want to lose weight you're just going to have to be committed. Nutrition is such an important element, if not the most important, to weight loss in general.

Sounds like you have everything else sorted. Have a little hunt around on the ladies' journals for ideas on nutrition, or just ask :)

Well done on the weight loss so far! I personally think its all about creating good habits - and so the theory goes it takes 21 days to create a new habit - so if you can stick to a plan for 3 weeks you're on your way. I found it easiest to take it one meal at a time, as it wont be easy to modify your diet completely morning noon and night all at once - for instance get used to a really good healthy breakfast (whilst cutting back on bad foods the rest of the day) then once you've got that down and found something you like stuck to it - then follow lunch and dinners. Protein shakes work wonders if you need 'snacks' and - here is the key - if you dont buy it you cant eat it.

Good veg, protein and no more white stuff (flour/pasta/rice) and you're off to a good start :D

Thanks for the reply's guys. Appreciate it. Im working on the food situation as I am terrible and have been since I was a kid.

Im working on loosing some more weight by my birthday which is 17 June. It's like a little personal challenge for just over a month.

It includes getting up earlier and going to bed earlier.

Eating Breakfast which I havent done since Intermediate school. (bad I know, I just can't eat first thing in the morning)

Trying to eat better and introduce new foods slowly.

Workout 5 days a week (weekends will be rest) as well as teach my 30 dance classes a week.

So far today is going good. Got up early, Had breakfast, done my workout, Sushi for lunch and now about to start my afternoon of teaching.

I'll update along the way and I know I'll need the support. :)

you're a talented female and passionate about dance and 'kids'? I'll assume as that would be the bulk of who you encourage to dance, and be the best they can be. you're proving you have got the mindset to get results, you have to choose, because you're nearly there. do you want to change your lifestyle of habitual eating and prove to yourself that you have got 'the whole package'. OR are you going to settle for mediocrity? it's not about giving up chocolate or KFC or whatever food you 'crave'to hit your emotional high, it's about being disciplined and still having a treat, but you are in CONTROL not FOOD in control of you. always set small goals and go week by week, and when you achieve each goal you say to yourself "you go gurl" every week when you've achieved. it's a mind battle with achieving success in any arena - so it's our mind we have to 'harden up' to the little excuses we give ourselves. keep us posted.

shit gurl, I just read how many classes you teach a week???? you have got to eat HEAPS more to stoke the old furnace - during the day. you need to think like a professional dancer or athlete, and prepare about 5-6 decent healthy meals each day. don't have to 'diet' hardcore, just eat healthy and often. otherwise im pretty sure you're gonna be hungry than a mother at the end of the day in the evening? good to hear you're eating breakfast. if you haven't been eating breakfast it's because you're eating too many carbs and too late in the evening. eat a decent breakfast too. add a banana with that sushi as well. you'll get into the habit of preparing your kai, especially when you start seeing the results even more. keep going - you're on your way.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry havent been on here in a while. Im doing well and have have finally found a protein shake flavour I like so have been haveing a shake for breakfast and it's setting me up well for the day. Still struggling with food but finally understand why I am so picky. I am a supertaster. Basically that means I have more tastebuds than most people and taste things 3x stronger. This explains alot!!!!

I have also started to try to teach myself to cook and have been experimenting alot. I used to find I hated cooking cause I hated most foods that went into a dish making it hard to know if you have cooked stuff right if you don't want to taste it. Im lucky my partner will eat anything so I have been experimenting with adding some greens etc to my meal as well as cooking more variety for him. I don't think I'll ever be a great cook but I can definitely do the basics and I'm trying to expand my knowledge as now that I know Im a supertaster its a bit easier to know which foods to try.

Havent lost much weight lately been a little slack and under stress (only 2kgs) but have tried to keep the inspiration up but running up the stairs in my house instead of walking etc etc. I also was inspired during one of my preschool dance classes when I noticed I had a tricep muscle showing that never used to be there. :pfft:

Im trying to find a good routine to fit in my workouts during my busy day and then stick to the same time every week. I'll let you know how it goes..........

For your cooking, buy a wok. stir-fry meat and veges is a great alternative to eating out. Just watch the cooking oils.

You can add nuts, seeds, meat, cabbage etc at their respective times and create great meals, easy. Not sure I have heard of supertaster though. Sounds kinda porno. This a real thing?
