T-SHIRT GIVEAWAY OFFER

You!

Yes, you - the one lurking down the back there...

Stop it.

That's right... stop your lurking, come out of the shadows, and be sociable.

We'd like to get to know you. We'd like it so much, in fact, that we'll even bribe you for it.

We've got 50 t-shirts to give away to the first people to post 20 messages. Now 20 posts is nothing, so even you shadow-lurkers and new people should have no trouble with this.

You'll know when you've reached 20 posts because the little tag under your name beside each message you write will say “Posts: 20â€

6) Finally, we reserve the right to change the rules as we go along.

:pfft: A rule that the rules can be changed ha ha :pfft:

How about us folk who have already have more than 20 posts are we in too or is this just for newbies?

What does the T look like???

Getting lurkers to post like this may not be such a good idea. Many people should NOT be posting on Internet forums (e.g. retards, illiterates, blowhards, ignoramuses, assholes etc.). It may be that the lurkers have judged themselves to be in one of these categories and so prudently opted not to post.

I was actually thinking along the same lines though  Its kind of asking for spam even though Psuedonym has expressed that posts will need to be of a specific quality. I mean, who doesnt want a free T-shirt. Still, it is a good way to get more of the 'lurkers' to join in and participate, which is what we all want.

Big ups to Psuedonym and the sponsers for giving away free stuff though.

yeah i wanna know if its just for people that join from now on too

Whoops - didn't make that clear, did I... It's for anyone who has made 20 posts or more, so you all qualify.

*prepares to be deluged in a mass of PMs*

I'll try to get some samples of the shirts so I can put up photos.

And I've just thought of another rule: You must wear your t-shirt to the gym.

OK - I've changed t-shirt styles (the last style was ridiculously small), so now they go up to 3XL.

The sizes are as follows:

[table][row]Sizes:[col]S[col]M[col]L[col]XL[col]XXL[col]3XL

[row]1/2 chest[col]52[col]54[col]57[col]59[col]61[col]63[/table]

The 1/2 chest measurement is the distance (in cm) from armpit to armpit.

Personally, I've found the sizes to be a bit larger than I'd expected (I'd normally take a large, but a medium fitted me fine). Having said that, the tees are 100% cotton, so you do have to allow for shrinkage - the suppliers say to expect shrinkage of about 5-10%.

This photo is of a round-neck tee. If anyone wants a V-neck, the V comes down to around the level of the chain.

You can have any colour you like, Growth - as long as it's black.

Hey, if it's good enough for Henry Ford, it's good enough for me... :P

Unfortunately printing on white would require a different set of screens to be made. We went with black since it doesn't show gym dirt or sweat.

I've been speaking to a few people, and it sounds like we can't guarantee our 400 posters reaching the gyms, or even being put up once they do... Some will make it (and have already, in fact) but we can't rely on it.

>

Now - the sooner more members join up, the sooner they'll qualify for this t-shirt offer, the sooner we'll be able to get the shirts printed, and the sooner you'll get your own. So it's really in everyone's interests to get out there and promote this site. (Told you it was cunning!) :pfft:

There are several ways you can do this.

We have a flyer (kindly suggested by Growth) for pinnning to gym noticeboards and sticking under windscreens in gym carparks. Download it here, then print, cut and distribute!

Just casually mention NZBB whenever you talk in the gym. See if you can squeeze the subject into every conversation. Chat to your friends about it loudly enough for the whole gym to hear. When our poster appears on your gym notice board, cluster around it like it was the best thing you've ever seen (of course, it will be anyway!)

The more people that visit http://www.nzbb.co.nz the better the resource becomes for us all. Together, let's make this place HUGE!

Well if you have posters that are unused dont let them go to waste. Send spares out with the T-Shirts, that was people can go to their respective gyms, see if a poster made its way there, and if it didnt then they can ask the reception if they are allowed to put it up, which im sure most would ablige. If the gym already has one then peeps can just keep it and put it on their wall or something.

Marcus - I agree... the t-shirts are probably going to be the most effective form of advertising, but the t-shirts have to be printed in a bulk run, so nothing can be printed until we've got all 50 entries in. Catch 22, eh?

Unfortunately, it's ridiculously expensive to post a poster... They have to be sent in a cardboard tube, since no-one will put them up if they arrive folded up into a regular envelope. And by the time you've paid the extra postage on that, you're looking at nearly $5 each. Multiply by 400, and that's $2000 - just on getting the posters to their destination!

That's why I was so pleased when our sponsors agreed to pass them to their sales reps to distribute for us. However, as I say, there's no guarantee that all the reps will hand them out, or that the gym will put them up even if they do.

So it's up to you guys to spread the word!

*ahem* :shifty:

Let's just say for those who haven't reached 20 posts yet, there are still plenty of opportunities to earn a t-shirt.

I think we'll have to do a few smaller print runs (it'll cost a bit more than just the one big batch, but I don't think it will break the bank). However, we still need a few more signups to make the first run worthwhile.

So c'mon, people - if you haven't signed up for a tee, do it now!

On a separate note: I put up a poster in my own gym recently (too impatient to wait for the sponsors to do it, I'm afraid!). Within two days, someone from “West Aucklandâ€
