Telling your/a doctor

Recommended Posts

Your on steroids...

Good or Bad?

About to get some blood tests done... And I want to tell him everything Im going to do... But dont know if its a good idea or not...

Can he take this info to the police etc?

Probably better he knows. Do they tell your wife if you get drip dick? No.

Do they tell the law for all the other drug user? No

Their job is to look after your health. They are entitled to tell you the negatives of and drug use. Their job is not to judge you. Thats my job when you post your pics. :pfft:

a doctors job is not to judge you it is to diagnose and treat you, they may tell u what your doing isnt wise... and hey lets face the facts, it isnt lol... they dnt lecture smokers when they come in cause they have lung cancer do they.

you would think that...when i told my doc she just went on and on :pfft:

and we dont live in america, so if your like the majority of us that dont have medical insurance, you wouldnt need to worry about it interfering with your medical care.

no doc will report you to the police, that would be unethical to judge you like that. i recommend you do tell your doc, that way when you go in you dont need to justify getting a whole range of blood tests.

Well, I do have medical insurance, and I reserve the right to tell no one. Only 2 close mates know, because some people see it as though it is in teh same category as crack. Dirty filthy crack.

If taking antidepressants can cause issues with health insurance (that happened to a family member), then I'm not telling anyone who would roll over if a court order (for instance) came their way..

Look at the state of you of course she would make a big deal about it She could obviously see you needed to eat and lift before considering gear.

Your only concern is probably private health insurance.

Even if you have an 'agreement' with your doctor to keep talk of roids 'off the record', if you get a blood test while on the gear the results of >50 nmol are there for all medical professionals to see. It's subsidised so they can't NOT keep your blood test results if they get government to fund it. Private health insurance is not going to believe you took Tribulus to get that level :-)

Go to another doctor, use them once for blood tests and don't join their clinic or have your records moved to them. That way when if you go through medical scrutiny you give them access to your family doctor's records.

This is likely to change sometime in the future (they've been trying for 10 years already, Orion Health etc), medical professionals have always wanted country-wide integrated systems so if you're injured they can get everything on you at a moments notice. But for now using a doctor other than the one that has all your records might be the way to go. If you have some medical condition already that could be affected by gear use perhaps your current doctor is the safer option.

Even if you tell your doc that gear talk is off the record its still almost impossible to avoid blood tests going to specialists when you get something serious wrong because they are going to want your specialists to know everything about what they are dealing with. From personal experience this got my private medical insurers a bit uptight & subsequently they cancelled my policy. I'm now for ever in the hands of the Public Health System. OMG! :D

I think that you should tell your Doc and if you do have private health insurance have a look first as this may cause you to lose it. You might be surprised by your doctor’s response, and if anything did happen then your records would be complete. I know that my doctor would not care, she would just give me a “lecture” on safe needle practice and where to get them from.

As for the smokers comment that I saw, YES my GP does tell each of her smokers off every time they come in the office, however she does offer them NRT as well, and does them to let her know when they are ready to quit and she will be more than happy to help.

:naughty:

No he cannot. He is restricted to patient confidentiality etc etc.

When I moved back to Hawkes Bay I was recommended a friendly doctor with open views. Depending on where you live might wana have a look at finding a friendly doc elsewhere...try PM a few people on here and see how you go? Unless someone on here can recommend a good doc for him? 8)
