Hey guys/gals

I found this website about 2 months ago and have been frequently reading topics since. I like the idea that NZers have a place to get together and share their thoughts on bodybuilding.

A little about myself: Just turned 23, weighed in this morning at 69kg, im 5ft4. have been pushing weights for about 3 years, started when i was at waikato uni and now live in rotorua. i have only just been able to really focus on my diet as when i was a student, i didnt care.

I have enjoyed seeing my strength go up in that time, but am wanting to keep pushing. My aim is to hit minimum 100kg each on the big 3 (Squats, Deadlifts and Bench). Only one i need to tick off is Bench (90kg @ 4 reps atm, 100kg at 6 reps and ill be happy). I play cricket in the summer and hockey in the winter.

Looking forward to learning more from this website. :)

Hey bro,

100 for bench sounds good. I think that's almost everyone's goal when they begin the gym.

But for squat and deadlift I would say 100 is too light. If 100 was your bench goal. Maybe a 120 squat would be of equal challenge? and a 140 deadlift?

What do the rest think on those weights?

I say 150 squat and 170 deadlift.

Cheers for the comments.

Yeah its probably time to step up those goals for squat and deadlift too. I am currently trying to rework my squat technique, as i was bending over a lot, causing pain in my lower back. Time to start from scratch with lighter weights. Deadlift is feeling good at the moment, can get 120 up for 6 reps.
