finding out your bodys natural pulling style

Recommended Posts

hey fuckers,

i posted a thread ages ago called 'the sumo equation', about which body proportions best suit which pulling style. If you read the article, this one is far more clearly explained, and has the tables set out for you.

I just got measured up, and i am in the top right, so i am no doubt structured for sumo. I guess to make the most of it, i need to strengthen my hips n glutes.

It takes 2 minutes to do, but is very interesting. i have proportionately a very long torso, and short-average arms.

If anyone here does this, post up your findings!

Good article there, I just got measured and I have long arms and torso  so according to chart can pull either style. I find sumo more difficult then conventional it feels more of an effort and the weight tends to get glued to the floor when I am using sumo- glutes are lagging somewhat!

Do you find sumo easier SFS as you have short arms and long torso?

to be honest, i havent spent long enough trying it to know. im much stronger at conventional atm, but that is cos ive never given sumo the time it needs.

i did a sumo tech session with OldBull last year, so im confident in being able to give sumo a good crack.

in fact i will 8)

as the article says, it just shows what style your build has the most potential in. if you have other factors like flexi issues etc, it may mean you are weaker in your true style.

for example, for me to get the most out of sumo, i need to do flex and strength work on my hams and hips.

But, if i do do that, i will eventually be able to pull more as sumo than i would be able to as conventional...
