what does everyone use to plan out there year or 6 month-12month plan?

ie 3months hypertrophy,1 week off, 6 weeks strength training, 1 week off, back to hypertrophy for 3 months

somthing like that? obvisouly it will depend on your goals and targets. just keen to see what and how everyone does it

OR... do you just go with the mirror and what 'feels' right?

If you feel like you are falling to pieces, sick, sore joints etc etc then just pushing ahead will make you worse. Don't necessarily have to take time off but definitely reduce your workload. You need to every now and then just to give your CNS a break.

I often plan a year in advance, still pretty poor compared to the multi year plans the Russians / Eastern lifters often have. I then break down into even more detail (ie every set/expected rep range & exercise) for up to 25 weeks in advance. I plan all low volume weeks so I'm not beat up before I wait to decide to back off.

PPPPPP - Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
