Daily water intake

How much straight water do you consume a day? I am about 80kg @ about 10% bf & I drink about 7- 9 litres per day. 3litres 1st thing in the morning. Dispite this I seem to be dehydrated all the time. Little or yellow piss, dry eyes, little sweating.

It is possible to drink too much water. Robs your body of all it's water soluble vitamins and minerals. I would have thought that about 3 to 4 litres would have been more than enough. Heck I am 116 kg and go through about 3 litres a day max. And even that has me pissing every bloody 30 mins.

thats a lot of water, must be pissing every 10 mins!

Huge amount of water! I have a 1.5l bottle, and I aim to get through that twice each day, has me pissing like a racehorse.

I did 6-7litres a day in the leadup to a powerlifting comp a few weeks back, and I found that really tough to get the amount in, was constantly sipping water through the day to reach my target.

3 litres at once in the morning is massive, I'd imagine that would surpass the daily intake for a lot of folk...

If you're not letting much of it out I'd start thinking about a GP visit...

Diabetics piss a lot, and he's said he doesn't. Seems odd though, it's gotta be going somewhere, unless he's gaining a few kg a day :shock: Could always try tasting your piss, and hope it's not sweet :lol:

I usually drink roughly 4L a day just sipping away comfortably.

I think thats roughly 8 kgs per day in mass terms. Thats a heap of water. As a general rule of thumb, I work water intake out as body mass (weight) X 0.033. ie. 80 kg X 0.033 = 2.64 litres/day. I've also been told to add a pinch of salt per litre in the summer as we sweat out alot of sodium?

I'd go through 2-3L easily during training of 90-120min (or more accurately, 2-3L goes through me easily :lol: ). Then another couple of litres during the day, on top of a few coffees and green teas. And that sees me pissing like a racehorse all day and night
