Redundant question as NZPF (IPF) are staunch supporters of WADA code.

Better question would be is their room for an untested federation within NZL. Number of lifters in NZL is probably the limiting factor - could be part of CAPO in Australia.

It might be more popular, but you risk turning the sport into a circus. There are trade-offs, like a new federation popping up every month because somebody needs a new WR.

TPM's PLF sounds good to me. Can I come over and train with you Matt and we'll go about setting our world records! :pfft:

You are right when one looks at the US context, its a real mess. Australia seem to have a happy median with the PA / CAPO balance tho?

some should should start one then. id compete in it... so would all the people who call themselves powerlifters who dnt even belong to the federation but say they are powerlifters and have 100 excuses as to why they not a member.... i wonder why they arent signed up presently...

And its not a tiny bit of a circus now with the suits and all the assistance gear?

Just sayin!! Lol

If people want to compete they should be able to find a venue to compete in. NZPF might not test if it wasn't a funding requirement from the WADA.

Its the hypocrisy that puts me off. Kind of like when they tested in the NZFBB.

Sometimes you do wonder what excuse will be used next....

I agree. If you want to be tested under comp conditions just be harder on yourself in a gym environment.

i dont know where you got the idea that IPF meets are small, the auckland champs the last 2 years have been packed. My last lift was at 845pm where I had started around lunch time. Powerlifting is growing, albeit slowly and the NZPFs strict testing has weeded out the juiceheads. Its only a matter of time before (if there are still any users left that is) before the last of them are caught and kicked out.

Moral is keep it in the gym, or go clean and compete that way.

I think its an opportunit for the body building feds to consider. Shows over here these days are short due to a lack of competitors.

We are seeing lots of variations of different spins on fitness and bikini - even modelling classes. But why can't you run a bench press competition at the same time. During the day show the lift comp could be held in another part of the venue (foyer) and then the top 3 lifts in each grade could go on to compete in the finals that night - amoungst the other classes.

I guarantee you'd get more guys benching than getting up in their briefs. It has a nice connect with the training aspect of bodybuilding also.

IPF meets here are pretty small, not much to push people to new PB's.

You don't deserve to call yourself a powerlifter unless you can push yourself to new PB's. Its not someone else's responsibility to get them for you, you have to earn them.

Man how long has testing been at the olympics and people still cheat. I do agree with you in one sense, that if you are competing in a known natural only federation then play by the rules. Although I am sure you would agree it's naive to believe that that's everyone in NZPF's personal ruling. That's why CAPO does well over here, cos people can play by their own rules.

I reckon strong man comps are the way to go anyway. I can't personally relate to a guy who benches a ton of weight with a shirt on and then takes it off and can't do even close to that. As a regular gym guy I am far more impressed with the raw lifters who shift a ton of weight all the time and the strong men who can lift heavy shit and flip cars over. Cos I can go outside and try my car and work out it ain't easy ha ha ha ha ha

It would probably be more popular if Plifters were not so fat & agro! :pfft: Hell even I would compete if they were not so damn conceited

mmmm...you must have mistaken a powerlifter for an off season juiced bodybuilder...or did you recently get schooled by a powerlifter 50kgs lighter BW than you in the squat rack? :pfft:

Tonka a few questions, you must wonder what you could do with some enhancment? you could add what 20-40 kgs to each lift fairly quickly? And would you ever consider use if you were retired from competing in IPF and just wanted to see what you could do?

I don't think he could afford to get any bigger. Literally

Now now children, play nicely lol

Pretty rude statement SD, but I assumed you were taking the piss, I have met plenty of real arsehole bodybuilders and for sure just as many arsehole PLs. But they tend to be the minority as evidneced by the AWESOME mixture of folk we have on here.
