How do you take YOUR Creatine?

I've just started taking creatine and am trying a loading phase for the first week. Its a lot of powder to get through so Im just powering through it with lots of water but it got me wondering, It doesnt taste like anything so...

Does anyone sprinkle it on their food?

Any other awesome ways of taking it?

Are their any foods/ liquids you shouldn't take it with?

i load with the powder taking 20 g a day then move on to capsules just cause theyre hassle free and take em morning and post workout. i like it with raro cause raro kicks arse! people will tell you not to have it with raro baecause its to " acidic " and ruins the creatine, but your stomachs full of acid so i dont see how they figured that one

When I take creatine, I just stir a heaped tsp into my daily green tea (or black coffee) in the morning  Seems to work for me, dissolves the powder nicely, tastes good because of the tea (or coffee)... etc.

This is just my (unqualified) opinion, but I think people overcomplicate it - including myself in the past. Just take it the way that suits you best. If you don't notice anything, start looking at what time(s) you take it/how much of it you use/what you take it with. And keep water intake up.

im not sure about that shit raro except that its only really good for rotting your teeth but yes those people have told you something correct when u take creatine with a drink that has an acidic base e.g orange juice etc. the creatine converts in creatinine which is a waste product which pretty much means it becomes useless. grape juice is a good one to have your monohydrate with bro

iv read conflicting things about caffeine use with creatine use. personally i would stay away from it while cycling creatine or at least excessive use, im sure the odd bit of caffeine would be harmless. anyway each to their own.

pwo with me mass shake, bcaas and banana. If i was cutting then id do it pwo with some dextrose, as insulin spike from dextrose assists with the uptake of creatine into your body. I read that the loading phase is BS, and companies just made it up so you can go through more of their product? so when i do loading phase i meet in the middle at 10g as too uch creatine can be bad for your kidneys. sorry to go a bit off topic, but does anyone notice the difference in strength between cycles of creatine when taking and not taking???

Some people take it with dextrose as this creates an insuline spike then the creatine is transported to the muscles with the dextrose. too much sugar for my liking.

i think loading is ok... what brand are u taking that expensive? pure creatine monohydrate is one of the cheapest as in best bang for buck supps out there if they wanted you to go thru it quickly they wouldnt tell u to cycle it.

companies only tell you to cycle it because the governing health body says that creatine needs to be cycled no?? and im sure if they didnt tell you to cycle people would be much worse off from using it all the time and they would lose sales, anyhow im not taking expensive brand, just use the cheapest, inner armour and ON. we all know the oldest most studied stuff is the best :pfft:

I have it as a shot in water with 1/2 t beta-alanine 2 mins before lifting then repeat it with BCAAS, glutamine and protein shake after training.

that's interesting - I heard that it creatine and protein shouldn't be taken together as they fight for same receptors... your thoughts?

I always have about a 15 min interlude. Glucose and creatine post wo and then protein shake after. I do this because I also read that your body will prioritize replenishing cell energy before absorbing protein.

whats all everyones view one this?

interesting... can you provide a reference for this? I am a caffeine addict + I use creatine.

Yeah it is something I'm aware of, but I seem to get the same result with/without caffeine in the diet when I'm on creatine, so taking it with a greentea or coffee is most convenient for me. Also I read that the initial study testing the effectiveness of creatine, was done by diluting it in tea and/or coffee. Not sure how true that is but I'm running with it :P

As you say though there are conflicting reports, so I guess what I'm saying is people should just give it a go, maybe change something every time you cycle it if it doesn't work how you'd expect, and see what works best for them. But heck if it works, and it ain't broke, don't fix it.
