Sugar you bastard!

Today I am starting a sugar-free diet, which is gonna absolutely kill me for the first week.

I'm not sure how long term this will turn out to be but I'm hoping to be disciplined enough to stick to it.

Does anyone have any helpful advice to curb those cravings or just any advice in general?

I lived on sugar free gum, for a while. But I now understand my body and it does need a little sugar in it once in a while.

I would suggest that if you start craving sugar, do what I do and make a special trip out for it. It really makes you think of you want it or not. Also if I have a craving for cake, ill bake it from scratch... No box mix...

It does help and it does get better.

Just made a horiffying discovery in relation to the sugar free regime.

I make my shakes with protein, 1/4cup of organic natural unsweetened yoghurt, and 1/4cup low fat soy milk, and water.

Turns out soy milk contains alot of sugar.. I didnt know :( no wonder the shakes tasted so good.

If it's just the sweetness you're after use Equal or Splenda. I use Splenda in my coffee and shakes (Alacen PP). Provides that sweetness. Some use Stevia but I found that too sickly.

If you're going to use Stevia, you need to use a tiny amount because it's so strong!
