How to increase your Metabolism?

Smaller meals makes it easier on your metabolism which in return would help keep it long lasting and better?

They wouldn't make it easier, and they certainly don't increase it. It's possible that too many small meals can mess with your endocrine system in relation to insulin production and response and lead to increased insulin resistance. Every meal you have will stimulate the release of insulin, too much stimulation too often and the body starts building a resistance to the signals insulin sends.

I'm only talking numbers of about 6 meals. I only suggested it as I recall being told and with a bit of googling I found a couple websites (+ more i didnt bother reading) but the top 2 both said it.

"Eat - And Lose Weight Because You Boost Your Metabolism

This means that you must EAT - even though you don't seem to be losing weight. Eating more, and more often, ensures that your metabolism keeps doing its job. The fact that you're eating is boosting your metabolism: your body must convert the fuel into energy, and it boosts your metabolism when you do this."

"Eating several small meals throughout the day may allow weight loss to happen quicker then traditional eating routines. This is because eating 4 to 6 meals daily keeps your metabolism consistently burning. The result of this behavior can actually train your body to burn more calories over time, resulting is quicker weight loss. Here's a guide to eating small meals to increase your metabolism."

Although you do seem like you know what you're talking about. How many meals would you regard as "too many"?

The 6 meals thing is a recently confirmed myth bro.

What happens roughly is your metabolism is spiked 6 times, each time you eat.

If you ate the same calories in three meals or one meal, the spike to your metabolism would be much larger and on balance would even out to the exact same increased metabolic rate over the course of a day.

The only thing is it is logistically difficult to cram thousands of calories into three meals- this is where the "eat every three hours" thing can be useful for skinny bastards.

Scientifically it makes no difference either way, but unless your stomach can hold heaps at one time its easier to eat more freqeuntly.
