I heard that you should take creatine on an empty stomach?

Yet aint you suppose to eat carbs before training?

Also I take creatine about 15 mins before I finish my workout.

Is it all good to have a protein shake straight after? Cause I heard creatine doesnt really mix well with protein?

Im still in a learning process here. :pfft: :shifty:

I usually take my creatine straight after my workout. Dunno what type of creatine you are using the the monohydrate gave me stomach cramps when I took it on an empty stomach. I use CEE now & it's good stuff.

Try this:

When you get home have your creatine & any other supps you take like Glutamine BCAA's etc, with the high glycemic carbs you take.

Then about 15 mins later have your protein shake.

I dont think you HAVE to eat carbs before training. Sometimes I have a protein/fat combo and I don't find my workout lacking in any way. Just depends on what works for you matie. Definitely have them after though.

Dunno about the creatine though sorry.

What would you recommend for people who train early in the morning?

I start training at 5.30am. All I have is a big bowl of nutri-grain and a coffee about 20 minutes before starting my workout.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with energy.

I have the cereal and coffee before my workout, then have a pre-prepared protein shake in the car on my way to work. Once I arrive at work I'll have a banana and lo-fat yoghurt, then about an hour and a half later I'll have a tin of tuna.

My reason for training in the mornings is kinda two-fold. 1) I usually feel knackered after work and just wanna veg on the couch, and 2) I'm on call for work, so quite often have to take phone calls, which is a real pain in the arse if you're trying to have a workout.

Most people I know that train first thing in the morning, take creatine, glutamine and berocca about 30 mins before training.

Then they have glutamine and creatine in their protein shake afterwards.

I always train later in the day so I have my glutamine, creatine and berocca first thing in the morning. Then after training have my shake with it all in it. I also don't cycle creatine I take it year round.

I don't cycle it either. I just take it on workout days & it seems to do the trick. With CEE you don't need to load either.

Re carbs, I couldn't train in the mornings without them. Specially training with heavy weights & intensity. My mind would be all over the place. I Usually have a 25g carb serving of oats about 45mins to 1hr before I train. if I'm trying to lean out I mix it up depending what I'm training that night.
