lol i dunno, i just don't want to go through all the effort of getting kjs and then converting them to cals, also US sweet potato is much differ to NZ kumara for example, and most sites to get such info are US based. Just wanted to get a concensus and take it from there :pfft:

There seems to be a constant issue of getting the diet right while “Bulking or Cutting”. Is it worth investing(intially) on a nutritionist to get the diet right for a particular body type, work out patterns, type of foods you should eat PWO, morning, before sleep etc??? Get a weighing machine in the kitchen to be accurate with what you’re eating?

I guess it would be an expensive affair though  ! But this might help in a more accurate diet to suit an individual body type (assuming that we are keeping the intensity of workout and genetics at max)????

**again applies to novice like me who might not have reached the stage of eye balling ur callorie intake**

Don't be lazy, only you know exactly how much you eat so only you can figure it out.

1 yougurt

What size? 125g snack tub or 1kg...should say on the packaging anyway

Handful of nuts

My handful may be bigger or smaller than yours...

Casein protein with milk

How much casein protein, 1/2 scoop, 1 scoop, 2?

See the problem? The only way you're going to find out semi-accurately is to weigh everything and then use the nutritional data for that specific food item, or what the package said.

I prefer to keep it simple, if I'm not gaining weight and I want to, eat more. If i'm gaining too much too quickly and it's just fat, eat less. Same applies to losing weight, however that tends to be a bit more complicated to hold onto as much muscle as possible.

snack size, ie 1 from a 6 pack

Handful of nuts

My handful may be bigger or smaller than yours...

approx 20 almonds

Casein protein with milk

How much casein protein, 1/2 scoop, 1 scoop, 2?

1 scoop=25g protein with 150ml whole milk 100ml water

I am putting on weight, and am currently happy with this diet, I just wanted an approx for calories, sorry shouldnt have being so vague re some sizes, duh!!

Bro..... I'll say it how it is, and say what I said earlier in the thread.....

You're 60 something kgs and you're tall. Who gives a f*ck about counting every calorie and shit.... Just eat well, if you gaining too much fat cut things back a bit.. If you not gaining much muscle then bump things up slowly. All about small changes man, don't be a typical guy who worries about wanting to stay lean when they need to focus on getting big!

This is what I have been taking, but havnt put on any weight. curently 66kgs 5"10 with little body fat...have been quite fatigued at gym with lower than norm libido in last 4 months, any recomendations?? also manage to get through all this food but is a struggle to stomach it all!! train 4 times a week aswell, any advice much appreciated

Thanks

Thats not enough food in my opinion. I'm 70 kg and 6 foot 2. I eat near to twice what you are listing there a day. Also maybe 4 times a week is too much for you to train. I was training every day, cut back to 5 days a week, was still to much and now train mon, wed, fri. My body likes that, I recover well and am growing.

i know that calorie counting doesn't matter, and that I should eat depending on how my body feels etc, i just wanted an idea as to what the calorie intake was, but all good.

another question, I currently am having mass shakes, should I just buy normal protein and a heap of dextrose? as I've heard dextrose is cheaper and your muscles absorb it quicker than the maltodextrin in mass shakes??

Make your own mass shakes with whey, fruit oats milk and a bit of pb, much cleaner cals than what youd find in an average mass gainer.

I agree with rookie. at 60 odd kgs its like your a jew coming out of a concentration camp. Just eat, eat, eat. Trying to workout calories or macros can have benefits but overcomplicating it takes you away from what you need to be doing:eating like theres no tommorow! Also as rook said dont worry trying to have abs, focusi on adding weight to your major compound exercises and your body will grow like a weed.

thanks, i currently weigh 78kgs not 60 lol, and am 5"10, have very little body fat!!! so a bit ripped at the moment, just wana pack on some pounds as I'm currently doing with the above diet.

If I were to make the recommended shake above before i go to gym, does protein start going off after a few hours all mixed up in a bottle??

cheers
