How are you guys in Christchurch?

Don't think of them as gone away, their journey's just begun, life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of them as resting from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. And think of them as living in the hearts of those they touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and they were loved so much.

I found a shop open today called "Rare Fare". It is behind the Mobil station at the start of the Main North Road. It is a bodybuilders dream in this disaster. Quality meats and produce from Canterbury and New Zealand. The beef is prime Hereford and venison etc. The prices are retail similar to what you would find in a supermarket but you don't have to stand in line for an hour only to find the shelves and refrigerators half empty.

That is bloody brilliant. Excellent work TT. Those who have been hit the hardest will sure appreciate it.

It all hits home when normal things you do everyday just can't happen.

Had to run some petrol over to my parents today as the garages were all out of petrol or closed. This is so they can find a doctor to get prescriptions filled, track down some water, or just get over to my place for a shower.

They're pretty hardy and even though they don't have water or sewerage just getting the power on was a big day.

All the help from the over the country is very much welcome.

Relieved to hear you are ok Rod, as well as everyone else on here.

We up here in auckland cannot even begin to imagine the trials that you guys are going through, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Alot of people have said to me that it kind of puts the day to day miniscule problems in ones life into perspective when one witnesses devastation and suffering on such a huge scale. We up here can all feel grateful that we have a home to go to tonight and freinds and love ones are safe and sound.

Much respect to everyone down there to way you have handled the situation with an incredible sense of community spirit and empathy for your fellow man, it is humbling to witness as I am sure that aucklanders would respond the same way.

Kia Kaha .

I felt like a piece of meat when we had coffee last week. The two of you kept staring at my squatting ab with a mixture of admiration and concern!

In Dunedin we are doing all shorts of fund raiseing events for Christchurch like today for examaple lunches for Christchurch which was held today and as write this post thousands of lunches are being trucked up to Christchurch. Not to sure on how many lunches are being trucked up to Christchurch.I have also thought was since Tuseday all the problems that I have had with my bike seem so very small compare to the quake and you guys in Christchurch will be pleased to know that I have donated $6.10 in change so far to help with the money going towards rebuilding Christchurch

I know Moe Elmoussawi has not always had the most positive comments made about him on this website, so I think it's important that we recognise both sides of the coin. This post from Facebook:

Nuria Novoa: Go to Auckland last night, a big thank you to Moe ElMoussawi & his family for welcoming me into their home so I can prepare to do my best at the Arnold classic in 6 days! All my clients are safe & am so pleased :) Will be thinking of Christchurch xx..

...

I feel very lucky to have this week with them :) What a blessing. The girls are so sweet and gorgeous, Fatima had stuck a "Welcome Nuria" note to the front door, and there was a Teddy on my bed hehe cute huh?! xx

Good one, Moe.

Stoked to see my employers in Hawkes Bay donated $100,000. May only be a drop in the bucket but felt good to work for someone who looks out for community & not just profits.

Hopefully the rebuild can move as fast as possible & some good can come from this tradgedy (aka the "Art Deco Capital" thing HB got from the 1931 quake).

Best wishes to all in chch.
