The shut down on 1,3 Dimethyl has begun

So to everybody that uses BB.com it is now official that you would not be able to ship anything with 1,3 Dimethylamylamine in it.

There are one or two products that is still slipping through though but BB.com is working on getting it totaly shut down for export to NZ.

I just received an email confirmation about this from the fella thats in charge of the Global Trade department. Apparently Medsafe NZ has made it known to them that they now officialy have a problem with products that contain this ingredient coming through.

So my guess is that medsafe is in the process of getting this of the shelves soon. If anybody else have more info on this please share with the rest of us.

I know there are a few of you who said this was coming, and maybe it has begun. Chances are you probably will still be able to get it from another international site but i would'nt risk it.

So what will happen? Will they substitute / get rid of the ingredient from the products? or just get rid of them altogether?

Well if any of these companies want to have a market in NZ they will have to re-formulate their products as BSN did with NO-Explode.(We now have a very watered down version of this product minus a few key ingredients.)

Honestly i dont see why they should as this ingredient is the key to the success of some of these products, like Jacked and Hemo Rage. So here's what potentialy could happen. If and when it has become official in NZ that we cannot at all sell products with this ingredient and it is only us as a country then i dont think supplement companies are gonna bother with re-formulation. I know i would'nt if i was a Brand, but thats just me. The other thing that could happen is, if other countries follow suit with us then it becomes a problem and then they have no choice in re-formulating or come up with something totaly new, if they want to survive as a business.

Again this is just my view and i could be very wrong.

It's a bit of a cycle, mate. They'll have to stop selling them if (well, once) the ingredient is banned.

Eventually a "new" ingredient will come out, the bodybuilding populous will begin to accept it, before some 'tard OD's on it somehow (mixing it with alcohol and other drugs is usually the cause) and Medsafe will ban that, too.

The circle of (bodybuilding supplement's) life

Glad I stocked up a while ago, and the exp date isn't for a couple of years 8)

wow! is that an extremely important ingredient in a pre workout supp? are we going to have barely any pre workout supps available soon!?
*** man, it's not the end of the world, there's plenty more stims around than just DMAA, it just happens to be flavour of the month at the moment. There used to be more than just stimulants in Preworkout formulas however with DMAA that's all anybody seems to want now. You may as well just go and get pure DMAA from the PartyPill boys on KRoad if that's all you are after.

I'm not sure a ban is going to happen overnight. It took ages to reclassify BZP and the last discussions about DMAA centered more about restricting it's sale in pure powdered form, age restrictions and dose restrictions, not about an all out ban. If they do move to ban it outright it will be public knowledge and the first to make noise about it will be the Party Pill boys. They don't seem to worried so probably not much concern yet.

If you current supplier eg bb.com, won't sell it to you just get a new supplier.

USPLabs, Cellucor, Nutrabolics, Magnum, LG Sciences, Nutrex, VPX, BPi.

Some common Names for the same ingredient:

• Dimethylamylamine (DMAA)

• 1-3-Dimethylamylamine

• Geranium Extract

• Geranamine

• Geranium Oil

• Geranium Maculatum

• Geranium Stem

• Methylhexanamine

• Forthan

• Forthane

• 2-Amino-4-methylhexane

• 4-methyl-2-Hexanamine,

• 1,3-DIMETHYL-PENTYLAMINE,

• 1,3-Dimethylamylamine

• 4-Methyl-2-hexylamine

• 1,3-Dimethylpentylamine

Here's a list of some of the current products that contain Geranium in some form:

Fat Burners:

• Ergogenix Ergoburn

• Youth Addict Torch'd

• Gaspari Spirodex

• PharmaFreak Ripped Freak

• Nutrex Underground Lipo6 Black

• USP Labs OxyElite Pro (Also contains Yohimbine Alkaloids banned for Over the Counter Sale In NZ)

Pretraining Formula's:

• USP Labs Jack3d

• BPI 1.M.R.

• Nutrex Underground HemoRage Black

• API Rocked

• iSatori PWR

• Cobra Labs The Curse

• Scivation Quake

• Ergogenix ErgoPump

I noticed it was off the shelves in the supplement shops and gyms (jack3d i mean) but that it was still available to buy online,

i love jack3d a lot, the way i feel when i have it, and the ability to keep working out is awesome so i want to be able to keep using it.

i think what i'm getting at is, are they going to stop selling it online do you think? (about to purchase some on bodybuilding.co.nz)

everybody is jumping the gun, the fact thats its not on the shelfs means it probably just sold out, a ban won't happen over night. and bb.com a pack of wankers (in my books anyway.) they won't ship all kinks of stuff to nz. stuff that is not even banned over here. try Nutraplant.com or muscle&strengh.com or ihurb.com. these sites will continue to ship products even after they are banned. At your own risk of course. in my experience i have never had trouble getting banned stuff though customs, but i'm sure my luck will run out at some point. but then i will just carry on.

Dont get me wrong guys, i started this thread not to show what kind of wankers bb.com are(and i dont think they are as i have only had good experiences) but instead that they are taking action to what they have been told to do by Medsafe NZ and the fact is its lost revenue.

Yes everybody is going oh f*ck me what now and yes it will take time for DMAA to be banned/regulated in whatever shape or form. Trust me, the guy who's in charge of International Trade has asured me that if they could have it any differently they would but Medsafe is adament about this shit. And also this thread was just merely stating that in some way the clampdown on this current ingredient has begun and Medsafe is trying to clamp it down where ever it can at the moment. The fortunate part for some guys on here is that customs are a bit slack and therefor things do come through.

As Flex said before, find a different supplier or in this case a differnt website. Anyway, as frustrating as this is for some i commend BB.com's actions. At least it shows that in some way they care(its the only girly word i can up with) about other countries and their laws. I cant say this of some of the other ones. At the end of the day in my view is that there is only one entity to blame and thats Medsafe.

This is good thing, too many people rely on this ingredient to train hard, pure and simple. If you need this to get the right mind set to train, maybe you should invest in a iPod and download some heavy metal.

Or just have a coffee or two.

I only drink that cause it tastes good now, it doesn't even touch the sides for me
