of_wolf_and_man
hmm i got bored so i just started practising poses and took some photos... some of them aren't too great but hey, i need the criticism!PS - The uneven symmetry is a fault of my lack of practise in posing... its not because i work out funny or anything...
Varven
Looking good man, find someone to mentor you on posing. and keep eating, with size ud be awesome!
deegee
Some of those poses need work but overall not bad, really it takes some one on one with someone to get the poses down right.

of_wolf_and_man
are there people who specialise in mentoring posing? or do i just have to find a local bodybuilder and ask him... because i dont wanna look like a dick on stage when i enter the club physical champs....
Varven
hang around your gym and get to know the veterans who have done their time on stage. Some of them will be cocky b3#tards but the majority are very friendly and will be glad to help you out. If not Im sure there is someplace in New Market, at a gym where they teach you. Search up posts from user Tallulahangie, I think I remember her mentioning them yonks ago. good luck.
Pseudonym
I went to Lynne and Tony at the Environment Gym for help on posing and diet. They're very good (Tony has a reputation for being one of the country's top posers) - but they are on the other side of town from you in Onehunga.Having an experienced trainer to guide you makes things much easier, but it's not cheap. You could probably expect to pay $500, give or take. (That number is just a guess. I calculated that from 6 weeks at $30/half hour, followed 6 weeks at $60/hour = $540. You may not need so much time.)I think Point of View offered free posing advice a while back. I haven't seen him on the boards for a while, but it might be worth shooting him a PM. He's a competition judge, remember. Some of those poses are looking really nice - expecially your archer and rear double bi. When you're doing the "relaxed" poses, make sure you keep your lats flared (easier said than done, I know!). Other than that, just work on your symmetry, as you've already noted. Try doing your posing in front of the mirror. When you've got that nailed, strike the pose with your eyes closed. Then open them and use the mirror to readjust your positions. Finally, you'll want to bookmark this! Have you worked out a rough plan of attack yet? tallulahangie
There are quite a few bodybuilders in West Auckland. You have good old Ms New Zealand Physique herself - Helen Aloiai. She helped me immensely & I would have to say that she was the best in the business! (Her trainer is Tom Terry, NZFBB judge). Also, there are the Stubbingtons, Alan & Maree, who own Xtreme Nutrition on Te Pai Place (shoot, I've only been away from Auckland for 8.5 weeks & I've forgotten all the street names!). I found them to be extremely helpful with supplement advice, training etc.Just ask around and get talking to people. Most bodybuilders are keen to help out the younger ones new to the sport, one of the reasons being that bodybuilding is a dying sport.Learning to pose correctly is extremely hard work, but don't let that put you off at all, coz it's worth it in the end!!! lazyone
tony ligaliga and lynne wright know their shit on posing. tony is renowned for his routines and all. or there is leanne grindrod...i havent been to her but judging from competitions and feedback, she's pretty on to it. you would honestly look for someone that knows how to pose correctly coz you can have a mean striated physique but if you cant deliver the goods then just go kill yourself with your 3rd place trophy. (no offence to anyone)

Pseudonym
In the meantime, you might find this helpful... http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mark9.htmI don't agree with his posing techniques completely (although that's just the way I was taught), but they'll certainly start you on the right track. lazyone
the posing practise they hold on sundays is for team samoa and current members. if you aint in the 2 catergories then they'll charge you. but if you keep attending their classes maybe they'll forgo the charge once a while, they're lenient like dat sometimes...its worth checking out first before you start hating on their contribution to society.....(politician in the house even)

Cornfed
Will people please stop adding to this stupid thread. I keep logging on out of curiosity, thinking that someone has posted their pictures, when really it is just someone adding a one line comment to this stupid thread. Please stop this. You could do this in the General Chitchat forum and people wouldn't have to log on to read it.
