I find it hard to believe guys can put SO much time effort and total dedication into this 'sport' without something as powerful as sexual desire being THE (f not at least A significant) motivating factor.

If anyone disagrees I'd love to hear your reasons.

Yes youre right, I do it cause I wanna be the best I can be, and part of that reason is = sexual desire; in the context I want to subconsciously be others sexual desires, hence the quest for the perfect body.

I think it would be a pretty unfair judgement of anyone to think that all bodybuilders are gay. I admit some probably are but there sure are probably a hellofalot who arent.

Yeah one of my motives is to impress both sexes but in entirely different contexts (not sure if thats a word). So of course every straight guy wants to sexually impress chicks with his big muscles but i reckon straight guys also like to impress other dudes as well , but not in a gay way. Sorta of like.. you know...ya want other guys to envy you and wish they had a bod like yours.

I would say most guys begin bodybuilding because they want to be attractive to female. Lets face it do dont get 100 kilo slob yard guys having affairs with their employers wife, you have muscular, ripped, athletic guys that lonely wives find irresistable :grin:

As for guys, i couldnt care less what other males think of me.

I love BBing because it gives you a good mindset, your putting in all this effort and your getting results, its like your whole life, you go throught life building on yourself all the time, better job, better house, better car, thats how lift is, bodybuilding is just another aspect of that i guess, wanting to be the best you can be, really putting in time and effort and seeing results.

I do it to be healthy, stress relief, to look good (if you look good you feel good) and it gives a great sense of self discipline that passes into other areas of life. And if other people like the way I look that's nice for them?!?

I did have a gay friend who enlightened me that because men are attracted firstly by physical attributes (women by other things like confidence etc) that if you're not in good shape you just won't get any guys - now I know it's not always true but it makes sense.

So yeah I suppose a lot of gay guys work out maybe more so than straight guys but overall even if every gay guy out there was into bb there would still be a majority of straight guys doing it.

I can relate to this I know what you mean, when I first started out I did want to be impressive to girls and for guys to be jealous, pretty shallow, now I do it for me and dont care what others think.

Alot of things can be homo-erotic if thats where your head is at.

There's no doubt I love muscular women yet I don't believe I'm gay for the simple reason I don't get a boner when I see a guy bber...I've tried it just doesn't work.

It seems there's an industry around guys getting off on women bber's. I put this down to the fact guys are more horney and more likley to pay money for "gratification". How many women buy porno's.

Athletic women are beautiful creatures and if you didn't find these ladies below attractive I'd question your sexuality.
