Close down NZBB site

Boy this is a great site , heaps of guys and gals right into it, its got to be good for the sport , I cant beleive the NZFBB president talked about getting this site shut down at a committe meeting , think he was worried that every one would come here and not bother to go to the NZFBB site.

Are you serious mate? Thats insane! This is a really good site with alot of dedicated members. I know the Administrator has put a hell of alot of effort into this board. How can it even be contemplated that this site be shut down.

Do they actually have the authority to do so? And if so on what grounds would they officially close it?

If what I hear about the financial position of the NZFBB is true then maybe the NZFBB is in danger of closing down.

Freedom of speech is a fundamental right of all Kiwis-if you cant take the heat then get out of the kitchen!

I dont know why it would be of interest to shut this site down surely it cant be bad for the sport. Do they have the ability to have the site closed?

Thanks, hrdcor... I certainly think this site has been and will continue to be good for bodybuilding (although I admit to being slightly biased in the matter!). Here's an excerpt from our mission statement:

It is the goal of NZBB to act as a gateway and portal into bodybuilding, helping new members discover this exciting sport.

As such, far from taking visitors away from the official sites, we provide links and actively direct people towards the organisations.

When we first started, I sent letters to NABBA and the NZFBB informing them of our existence, and asking for their endorsements. I have not heard back officially from the NZFBB. However I frequently run into the president at my gym, and to date he has expressed only one concern to me - they had received some emails that were meant to come here.

This surprised me, since our email addresses are quite different (theirs ends in xtra.co.nz and ours ends in nzbb.co.nz) and we don't get much mail anyway. However, I communicated with the NZFBB secretary as requested, and promised to forward on any stray emails if necessary (although we've never received their mail yet).

As far as I know, this is the only issue that has arisen. My conversations with Mark have been very friendly, and I trust they will remain so.

Thats good , and so it should be !!! You have done a great job,hey if you see the President of the NZFBB ask him him if he reads your site , cause at the AGM he advised people to stay away from forums such as yours !!, and that he hymself does not read such things!!

personally i think this site is great.

there nothing legally they could of done anyway.
