so i'm taking a recovery week after 9 weeks of hard training. how should i eat? and what does every one else do during their recovery week? i'm actually getting bored not hitting the gym

Lol...depends on how you were eating during your 9-weeks of hard training. Personally, I would eat a medium protein / high carb / low fat diet during a 'recovery' week. Heaps of clean carbs to replenish glycogen stores and re-fuel your body.

A recovery week is a really good idea. A good friend of mine, a high ranked NZ BB takes a week off after every 5. I find that a few days every 4 weeks is enough for me.

Keep your diet the same, but less carbs - as they will not be needed in as larger quantities due to the lack of heavy lifting and energy required to train.

It will give you a good idea of your actuall size also, some people look a lot smaller when not pumped up - I start to look chubby pretty quick (this is due to the amount of food I consume to keep my weight on).

Good luck, and you should find a good increase in strength when you get back into it.

keep your diet clean with a relativley high protein intake , i dont like weeks off unless im sick

You may well not be growing as well as you could be then. I always think of how sports are seasoned (boxing for example) it is so you can rest, recuperate, and become stronger for the next event. Without this time off advancement in any aspect would be pretty hard...
