From what you say it sounds like you're doing everything right. If you wanted to switch to a 4-day training split, that would certainly help. Post up your diet, and we'll take a look at that too...

As far as the Horley's fatburner goes, I think your assessment is pretty good. I haven't tried the product, but here are my thoughts...

There are two main mechanisms in fatburners. One increases energy, which can make people feel a bit jittery. The other raises body temperature.

Horleys seems to go for the energy approach. They have bugger-all in the way of temperature-raising ingredients (24g Cayenne per serve, compared to EAS's product, which has 500g!)

Instead Horleys puts in a heap of Citrus aurantium, which contains the stimulant synephrine (a vague cousin of ephedrine, but safer). Their formula has over 2100g of Citrus aurantium. For what it's worth, I felt a bit of a kick from Reactiv's TR2 fatburner, and it only had 400g.

Curiously, given that Ripped Factors Xtreme seems to be stimulant-focused, Horleys have only put in half the caffeine that EAS or Reactiv have. Perhaps they felt the Citrus aurantium was enough? Or perhaps they didn't count the caffeine in the Green tea extract, of which there's a massive 4800mg.

As you say, Horleys seems one of the more reliable brands, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the safety of this product. Just be aware this could have quite a strong kick to it. At least, that's my guess going by the numbers. If in doubt, start with just 1-2 caps per serve rather than 3.

Hope that helps. :)

Ok before you go comparing products you should really know what Horleys have done with their label. For some bizarre reason they've given the quantities of the original dry ingredients eg. 735mg of synephrine per cap or 2205mg per serve basically means 735mg of the raw ingredient not the extract. It would be like saying it had 10grams of coffee beans in it yet only providing 100mg of caffeine. They've even put it on the label

"extracts equivalent to"

If the capsule really did have that much of each ingredient each capsule would weigh over 6grams - that would be one massive capsule. It's almost impossible to compare this product to anything else except some NZ and Australian made products like Balance and Max's as this is some weird labelling thing done in Australia.

It's unfortunate that even with this weird labelling they don't indicate what percentage of extract they end up with, and what potency of each is included. Yeah it's got 4800mg of Green tea leaf in it - but what levels are the polyphenols, and catechins/EGCG at? What percentage of synephrine is contained in the citrus aurantium?

Balance have done the same on their ThermoRipped label, but at least they've had the balls to list what they end up with:

Citrus aurantium (Bitter Orange) Fruit 1.25g equiv. Oxedrine (Synephrine) 5mg

Paullinia Cupana (Guarana) seed 1.429g equiv. Caffeine 50mg

Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) leaf 125mg equiv. Catechins 3mg

If we use the same ratio of 1250:5 on the Horleys product for Synephrine you end up with 8.8mg of Synephrine per serve - a bit less than TR2 at 40mg. Honestly, if it had that much of each ingredient in it they'd have people keeling over in the gym and it would be the best value and most effective fat burner on the market. But they don't, and it isn't.
