deeepsouth_nz
Definately compete, something you must do at least once! Posing time is up to a minute (NZFBB); my posing trunks were plain black (wet look lycra) I think other 'out there' colours can be a bit distracting if you're not too careful. rollesbygirl
maybe your pink ones would be available for hire Mastertel after you have finished wearing them for the Nationals?
MasterTel
maybe your pink ones would be available for hire Mastertel after you have finished wearing them for the Nationals? Ha - nice try, rollesbygirl! Those pink trunks will be staying in my cupboard next year ... I retired them after winning the 2005 NZFBB National Mixed Pairs title with Ali Gascoine. I should have know better to say to Ali "well if you make them I'll wear them"! :pfft: Oh, and congrats to Ali on winning ANOTHER overall title on Saturday ... the Women's Physique title at the NZFBB Taranaki Champs. And that was a month after she won her 2nd World Powerlifting title and 4 weeks before she competes in the Commonwealth Powerlifting champs in Chch. The woman is a machine! michaelk
I can't stand how everyone wears boring black, the idea is to draw attention to you, not blend in. This doesn't mean going crazy with some fluro green or orange from 1988, but a bit of colour does make you more noticable.I wore a wettish look green last year, wet look pink the year before, Gold before that, and have had various blues and reds.RULE ONE: Silver and White cut your body in half so are a definate no go.Make sure your in condition to show them off, don't turn up fat becuase then your drawing attention to your weakness as the fat is often around the waist by the posing briefs.POSING TIME: you got one minute....make it count! No 20second intro's, and only use Dorian Yates Dramatic music if your big and impossing enough to pull it off.Get the 2003-2007 Nats dvds and watch Joe Ulberg or Daniel Hibbs, simple sublime posing art! waldo
Only big guys can use dramatic music? Damn....there goes me and Carmina Burana next year.
Pseudonym
The real problem with coloured trunks is that if you accidentally get tanner on them, it shows up terribly. I remember seeing one poor guy wearing pink (not MT!) who looked like he'd shat himself. After seeing that, I swore I'd never wear anything other than black! As for the posing music, I'd rather have something dramatic with good strong points to strike poses hard. I think it's a lot more difficult to pull off a routine to a slow gentle, fluid piece of music - and to be honest, I haven't seen many attempts that I thought were successful. Poor tanning application, Put on either two pairs then your tan and take off the top pair...carefully, or tuck handee towels around the edges so the tanners don't touch the briefs.2. Practice practice practice. It doesn't have to be slow sensual stuff, hell Mark Stewart used "Stroke it" when he won the Overall one year, and the Cheers TV theme another. Big Music needs big muscle. Get on YouTube and have a look at them. Best posers ever.Either that, or there is a small section (probably 30secs) of Ed Corney posing in Pumping Iron. He is fluid like water, and makes the transitions between poses as beautiful to watch as the poses themselves.
