ok, so i've been doing weights 5days a week followed by joging after weights for 4days of the week. before i started my weight was 83kg.. and now (6mths later) i weigh 89kg. i work each body part once a week to allow for recovery.nutrition wise, its all well as i consume most carbs (oats and bananas) before 4pm, then i try to reduce it after. i also take lipo6,no-explode(only on weight days), on-100% whey, CLA, multi's, and l-carnitine.

so i guess my question is, is it possible to loose fat and gain even more lean muscle at the same time? how can i tell ?

Yes, it's possible, particularly if you're just starting training.

How can you tell? Well, are you looking leaner? If you are, and your body-weight has stayed the same or increased, then logically you must have dropped fat and gained muscle at the same time.

You could also get your gym to take a body-fat test.

If you are looking leaner (or a body fat test determines you are leaner) than that means you have lost fat, and ordinarily that means a drop in body weight.

If your body weight does not drop, but you've still lost fat, then something else must have increased to make up for it. Assuming you haven't grown an extra foot overnight, the only other thing that could be increasing is lean muscle mass. (Fluctuating water retention could account for some, but hopefully that's relatively minor)
