haha so is there a way to prevent the pot bellyness or should i just accept it and suck it in or just flaunt it :P

yeah i know the forum is a good start, but id like a book on it because that way im less likely to miss something important out.

you know! dandelion, apparently you can eat it ^_^ like the little yellow flowers that grow in the lawn, that plant.

I remember reading about an exercise for pot bellies. Exhale completely, and pull your stomach in. It's not a sucking-in feeling (that's why we made you exhale)... it's more a pull-your-bladder-in-to-prevent-peeing-yourself feeling. Hold this position for 30 seconds. That's one set. For a variation, you can also do this exercise while doing your usual ab crunches.

I have no idea how effective it is, but it has to be working a muscle somewhere. I'll see if I can find the article...

Stomach Vacuums - Work the intra abdominals or some crap. Supposedly give you a smaller waste, or the ability to make your waste look smaller while flexing.

I think haydz0r is talking about that distended stomach (otherwise known as HGH belly?) that a bunch of the pro's have.

I recommend just while your browsing or whatever make a list of terms that you don't understand and just cross them off as you learn them. Periodization; I wouldn't worry about that just yet. You're at the stage where you can still get a lot out of doing the basics 1-2 times a week.

Hate to admit but here you go, mine is a little like that not bad but I'm a little turtle bellied and no I'm not fat, as haydz0r said my abbs are clearly visible. I have some theories and no I've never used HGH.

My realitively short stature doesn't help a little over 5'6"

I had a hernia a year ago and I think that the use of my weight belt helped to bring it on so I don't use a waight belt at all now even for Squats and deads. So my belly is not held in at all when performing exercises so it fills with air and expands further than it would if I wore a belt.

This one migh sound a little strange but don't write it off. My abbs over the years have gotten thicker and thicker. From a side view you can see that my wais comes arount from my back and fairly tight/flat but then my abbs bulge out in the middle.

Anyway it doesn't matter when I get really lean it is all good my abbs are tight as and I keep my belly in looks perfect, I've shown some of the people at my gym for a laugh and they can see that it is funny but it isn't a problem for me.

Yip I wouldn't be surprised mate, that will probably be it. You basically just described my theorie number two. It is a problem for you are you worried about it? I just think it's funny, I can get down to a seriously low BF% and I can still make it look funny but as I say when I get on stage most competitorys would be stoaked to have my abbs and mid section. (not trying to be a tosser sorry if I've offended anyone)

I believe it is HGH Belly.

While taking HGH, the internal organs also incease in size.

It is normally associated with prolonged use.

I think long term insulin use also plays a part.

dont take HGH or insulin and i have only squattted about 10 or 12 times lol -_- genetics? im going to try those vacuum exercises haha :D chur!

personally i think it has to do with size of meals and carbs.

maybe gear plays apart but i wouldnt go as far as to call it a roid gut or gh belly, i think it comes down to diet, mine was bloated beofre i started cardio and eating little carbs not i have a small waist going into this comp and no bloat even when i try push it out.
