what's the best test?

I dont think you can really recomend a dose per kg as such, it depends on your past usage (which i am asuming in your case is none?)

Give us some stats so we can help you out

as for the prop dose you quoted that is closer to a HRT ( hormone replacement theropy) dose.

Generaly speaking asuming you are old enough have put in the time under the bar and diet is in check 400-500mg/week is a good starting point.
