Pseudonym
I've just finished a tub of Celltech by Muscletech. For those who don't know, Celltech is a creatine product with extra ingredients to help enhance the absorption of the creatine. It also has a reputation for being expensive - my 600g tub (38 serves) would have cost me $145, except that it was expired stock, so I got it for $30. It was only recently expired, so I don't think this would have had a significant impact of the product's effectiveness. (Although, as you can see, it did have a significant impact on the price!)Here's what was inside...I notice that Celltech appears to have a new formula now, and includes creatine ethyl ester. For those interested ina comparison, the new formula is shown here.Testing conditions were probably in Celltech's favour, since I hadn't used creatine of any sort in a long while, so I probably started with low creatine levels - making any increase a relatively big jump. I had also started eating properly again after a period of not eating enough for decent growth - so that would have had a positive effect on things, too.I got the "Delicious Fruit Punch" flavour - it wasn't delicious. In fact, it made me grimace every time. By grimace, I mean a "screw-up-the-face, wrinkle-the-nose, distort-the-mouth, shake-the-head, and shudder-the-entire-upper-body" reaction that I simply could not control. Picture someone drinking a glass of vinegar, and you'll get the idea. Now make that vinegar bright pink, and smell like cough syrup. In the end, I mixed it into my post-workout shake, and it was bearable. And the results? Well, I think we can say it worked. I'm sure I got bigger, fuller pumps with Celltech than I would have had without. I may have noticed a slight increase in vascularity too, but that's harder to be certain about. Strength and recovery were also pretty good - although, as I say, that could be caused by the improvement in diet alone. So how does it compare with other similar creatines with transport systems? Pretty favourably, actually. I couldn't say whether it was the best or not, but I'd certainly rank it among the top products. It is probably more expensive than other products - but not by as much as I'd expected. Given Muscletech's reputation for being pricey, I was pleasantly surprised.BSN Cellmass - 40 servings, rrp $135Ergopharm Cell Fuel - 30 servings, rrp $100EAS Phosphagen Elite - 40 servings, rrp $100(recommended retail prices sourced from http://www.endosport.co.nz)I can't decide whether creatine + transport system is worth the increased cost over plain creatine alone. Pharmasports make a pure creatine - 120 servings, rrp $70.I haven't tried it yet, but I think the results/cost balance would come from a Nitric Oxide product pre-workout (they're around the same price as creatine+transport) followed by a plain creatine in the post-workout shake (where the PW carbs and protein create its own insulin spike transport system). THEBERG
I used Cell Tech about 4 years ago and it was the most horrible drink i've ever had, your post is making my taste buds remember it (man i need a drink of water right now), but i must admit that i got very good strength gains from it and increased size considerable, up to half an inch first month i used (althought mainly water weight). Now i just get the unflovered kind and add my own absorption gear, althought not as good i think for the price it is better value. musclearmor
EAS Phosphagen Elite is the latest 4th generation creatine with a transport system plus Beta Alanine to buffer the lactic acid burn. Next step down is Phosphagen HP, which is the same as Elite minus the Beta Alanine. If you're simply looking for plain ol' creatine with potency true to label, then you cant go past regular Phosphagen. Phosphagen 500g (approx 100 serves) is only $39.95 or 1kg (approx 200 serves) is $69.95. Many online stores even take another 10-15% off this price making it one of the most affordable, yet repuable products out there. I simply use the plain Phosphagen for the initial loading period, as maintanence doses on non-training days and as my second daily dose on training days. I reserve Phosphagen Elite exclusively for after a hard weight training session. This delivers the best functionality versus cost strategy. biomax
I can only talk from a South African point of view, but I think the Muscle Tech stuff is way overpriced, although it may be working. I ordered some Beta alanine, Tri-Creatine blend, Alpha Lopoic Acid caps, Vanadyl Sulphate and some NAC from Nutraplanet in the US and then I just mixed it with a good local brand of carb drink (like something the cyclist/runners would use) and then I have something very similiar for a quarter of the price. And thing I like the most about it, is that I can adjust the ratio of the ingredients and paly around with it to suit my specific needs! To the Max Biomax! Steve Urban
Muscletech products are way to expensiveThey just have the brand name and marketing behind them. There are plenty more supplements out there that are at a reasonable price and give you on par results as muscletech

EZcurl
Ditto! When I want a product surrounded by hype, with outrageous promises, blanket marketing, flashy advertisements, and a label featuring a guy wearing only his undies – I buy Gaspari and Muscletech. They cover all my bases.
