How many sets?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how many sets others do for each bodypart?

My split is as follows with sets

Mon: Back 20 Sets, Biceps 12-16 sets(depends on how im feeling) Abs 4 sets

Wed: Chest 16 sets, Triceps 12-16 sets(as above) Abs 4 sets

Fri: Shoulders 20 sets, Legs 12 sets(I know i should do more but I hate legs!) Abs 4 sets

Reps for each bodygroup is 12,10,8,6-4

Any info you share is greatly appreciated!

id dump some of the sets for bi's and tris

their gunna be worked with ur row's on back day and the pressing with chest and shoulders

maybe look at doing 2 main compound exercisers for each muscle group and 1-2 isolation for that muscle group

so for back

chin up WG 4 sets

bb bent rows 4 sets

cg seated row 3 sets

back extensions 3 sets

whats ur goal? hypertrophy?

Why?

Youre referring to just one working set right?

Yea bro 1 working set maybe 3-4 exercises ofcourse including dropsets and stuff to really fatigue the muscles I just dont see the point in holding back to get through 15+ sets when you can get the same benefit and result if not more from doing way less

Try it bro you might surprise yourself

How many warm up sets do you do?

Ive tried it mate - didnt really like it.

Have to say I'd need to give it a really good go of course to make my final judgement.

Say you were warming up to hit a 200 kg bench or squat - how would you get there?

warmups generally 1-3 depending on how heavy il be lifting for a 200kg lift

id do it like this

60kg 8-12reps

100kg 4-6 reps

140-150kg 1-2 reps

200kg for as many reps as I can get then dropsets to get a massive pump

thats assuming the 200kg isnt a 1-rm and also your form is perfect so that nothing goes wrong with your stablising muscles

how many sets will depend a lot on ur goals and how many reps ur doing per set, what weight u are lifting etc

ie endurence training = reps 15-30 and up. 30 secs rest then another set of the same. 2 sets total

strength = higher weight. at least 85% of ur 1rm. at least 3mins rest between sets. lower reps. anywhere from 1 rep to 6

hypertrophy= reps 8-12, rest 60-90secs
