Cammo
I forked out about $220 (including shipping) for a 10lb bag of Optimum Nutrition 100% whey powder from a US site a few weeks ago. I've bought it from them in the past but I just did a dummy order on bodybuilding.com for the same product & it worked out just over $150......... Gutted!!!!! waldo
I'm always wary of BB.com. Had a couple of burns from them myself, and a few others on the board have too. My two cents, and also a plug for keeping the cash in NZ.
BlueCollarLifter
Yea, id love to keep it in nz..but i just wish we had more competition locally to bring the prices down. ive got a vip card for nutrtion plus, but its still cheaper for me to buy overseas. Although for bulk protein orders im gonna shop around for nz sites selling them..the prices are better than they used to be...not to mention variety.btw - our dollar has gone up
waldo
We do have a fair degree of competition, and our parallel import laws have been relaxed to facilitate this. Bulk Protein-wise, you just have to ask. If you're prepared to spend a bit, then you should get rewards in the form of a hefty discount.I had a guy enquire as to where to buy a years supply of MAX's protein. He spent 5 grand on 40-odd buckets, and duely got a hefty discount. Never be afraid to ask!

waldo
It was a one-off I'd say, he was an expat Aussie over here on work for a year, and couldn't find the Max's range in Wellington. He wanted to kit himself out so he wouldn't run out. When I ran a supplement shop, we'd get guys wanting 10 tubs every so often.
Varven
Talking about tonnes of protein powder in consumption. Can someone educate me (preferrably with factual backing) as to whether its ok to consume whey for a continuous time frame? Furthemore what are the chances of developing food allergies to it?And lastly is it wise to 'cycle' the stuff and sometimes go supplement free? The only supplements I use btw are whey and creatine. DaveG
Sometimes you get lucky - often youll find they will (or are supposed to) add an inspection charge and / or not release it. Fedex is especially bad that way.If you dont get lucky, it WILL cost you more than local
